Welcome to Kansas and the Nine Dwarfs. Hope the conference enjoyed the Jayhawks dethronement last year. They are a damned sight better than the conference. However, when the NCAA is finished, any banner put up in Allen Fieldhouse could be taken back down. I've seen experts saying the XII is strong, I don't see it. Baylor could shock the world (but not Kansas). Tristan Clark is a very good player, maybe the best. Tech lost a lot but kept Chris Beard and brought in a solid class. Texas has no lottery pick and Shaka's chair is very warm but they could surprise. Maybe NOT having a future star will be a plus. Iowa State has Tyrese Haliburton, who will be an NBA star. The rest of the conference is filler.

What's the problem - bad recruiting/other teams nabbing talent and not the Mountaineers or is it Huggy himself? Seems like he's been at WVU for awhile now - not as long as when he was with Cincy but it's got to be around a decade. Thought they were in the Top 10 a short time ago but then free-falled a bit as the season went on.

Thought they were in the Top 10 a short time ago but then free-falled a bit as the season went on. Huggy goes up, Huggy goes down. WVU went two years without the Big Dance (2012-14). But Huggy's never lost 20 before. His strengths are big runs in the NCAA. Huggins is 66 years old so maybe that's pushing away 5 stars. i think another bad season might push him out the door. WVU doesn't shuffle coaches often. Had three since 1978, Gale Catlett, John Beilein and Huggins. Not bad

You know if they all got paid I'd probably show more interest in it. I watched every Pat Mahomes game while he was at Texas Tech and I watch a few teams in the opening round of March Madness. That's it for college sports. They are kids. They are not as good as the adults (Mahomes actually was back in college). Why watch them when I can see professional athletes play the same game at a much higher level?
