NFL - smallest schedule helps a ton.
NHL - playoffs are ridiculously amazing.
MLB - October & Spring Training baseball alone make it great.
NBA - growing very tired of stars sitting out dozens of games.

All the other sports have expressed envy over the way the NBA runs things. Look that up. It's true.
- billions of dollars from foreign markets (how many years has the NFL been playing that stupid game in England with nothing to show for it?),
- their masterful marketing of stars (how many people actually know who Bryce Harper is)
- free agency TV shows actually get more viewers than MLB and NHL games!
- SPACE JAM 2 is on the way and will be a monster like the first one...let me know when the NFL players make a movie together
- anybody ever buy footwear because a football, baseball, or hockey player wore them?
- finally, the games are good. Competitive and short.

My enthusiasm overall has waned.
It used to be the NBA for a time but the league now is little more than shooting a bunch of 3 pointers and playing little to no defense. It's getting uglier
It has to be the NFL. It's the most consistently entertaining.

While it's still a toss up as far as the actual sports go (football or basketball), the NFL is more entertaining to me right now. As somebody else in the thread said, the NBA is all 3 pointers now, there isn't any real strategy since the advanced metrics guys took over. What could be more exciting than watching a 7'5" guy who shoots 15% from deep jack up threes all night because everyone is a volume shooter these days.
That being said, I still enjoy the sport of basketball more than hockey or baseball so I have to rank the NBA 2nd at least. As a sport I would rank soccer ahead of baseball, but the quality of play in the MLS is shit. Final rankings:
