I really wish it wasn't a mini-series.

I really wish it wasn't a mini-series. Liked it, wasn't what I expected. It's got some problematic themes which I hope it eventually addresses, in that given historical realities it is a bit on the absurd side to think cops are going to be your heroes in the fight against a wide scale white supremacist terrorist movement, seeing that many in their ranks would probably come from law enforcement in the first place. We'll see.

We'll see. Yeah, I felt the same way. It's gotta be intentionally ironic...maybe it's based on the fact that cops were disenfranchised by superheroes and the ones protesting them in the comic, so in Watchmen's world, racists skewed toward the latter? I don't know. Another thing I found odd is that the cops wear masks and have questionable interrogation techniques, which makes the world seem like a fascist police state, yet they have such heavy restrictions with their firearms. On that note, odd that we're supposed to be on their side at all. At least for now. ---- But yeah, it was okay. It's not what I expected either, but an inspired choice to move the action so far away from the original's. I do like and find it believable that Rorschach would inspire an alt-right cult. I'm calling it now, Veidt's maid and butler were genetically engineered by him. The scientific next step from his lynx Bubastis in the comics.

I thought it was pretty terrible. Which is a shame as I really like Regina King.

So Veidt is in some kind of dimensional prison , right? Yep, just as I always suspected. I've been thinking Dr. Manhattan could be involved, if not, then Lady Trieu.
I've heard comments from people who have seen the first six episodes that Sunday's is going to be bonkers.

I think Veidt is stuck on Mars or the Mmoon which is why he is using rocketry. I also think he is on a different timeline altogether and the statue is Lady True's garden is actually him.

I believe statue is a red herring actually. entirely possible, but I also think it’s a case of predicting the plot before the writers want us to which kind of happened with Westworld. I could definitely be wrong, but that is definitely the worst looking statue ever. Whatever she was after was sudden enough that she put a plan in action down to the second although we don’t really know how long she had the cloned baby.

I really hope this shows not as predictable as Westworld oh boy. I remember people predicting The William twist after the 3rd season 1 episode.

Just like most people didn’t know about the Jon Snow lineage thing either. Some of us are just always looking for the hook. I think Lindleoff is better than most at twists though.

The shows are written with regular TV viewers in mind and they don’t go out of their way to crack theories.

Thoughts on last episode ? give Tim Blake Nelson an emmy nm. He really is wonderful in this. I could listen to him reading a phone book all day. Well, maybe not, but I just love the way he works the dialogue on this show.
