What do you think of this? Guy with zero experience, not even as a coach, hired because he was a popular back up his last two seasons of his below average career.
On the plus side, catchers usually make good managers and sometimes guys with no experience do well (Dave Roberts, Don Mattingly).
Personally, I'm betting he lasts one season

So this means we won't have to listen to him on ESPN anymore? Not sure how it will work out for Cubs, but it's a win for the rest of us.

Even though I'm a blockhead caveman who doesn't really like ladies announcing men's sporting events, Mendoza isn't really that bad. And A-Rod doesn't bother me in the booth all that much, though he's better in small doses in a pre-game or post-game show.

3 division titles in his first 5 seasons, yeah, I'd say that's pretty good.

When I first heard Mendoza I was super annoyed but after listening to her, she's one of the few "analysts" who actually gives real data instead of stating the Joe Morgan-like obvious like half of these guys do. I have to admit, she's not bad.
