In baseball games the announcers can ramble on about anything, (Let me tell you about this hooker I met back in '93...) and will even conduct interviews with players during the game because of how slow and boring it is. Where with football they have no time for inane banter, will only talk about the game and have to wait till after the game to talk to players. Just something I noticed recently.

I’ll take one Vin Scully for 50 Joe Bucks and Troy Aikmans. I’m not a fan of the in-game interview with the manager either, but they’re not filling it with “inane banter”, at least not the good announcers. It’s the color of the game, almost soothing. It’s not football and doesn’t try to be. Thank god for that.

I wouldn't mind if they cut down the time of BOTH sports by having fewer commercial breaks and maybe encouraging pitchers to not take so long in between pitches and batters to stop stalling with their timeouts where he needs to tighten his gloves over and over again? The total time of action of both sports is just minutes and does not even come to an hour. It's about 15 for both.

I'm looking forward to the personal multi-cam days of baseball... the pitcher-batter-catcher-ump pov for 3hrs is mundane. When I go to a live game, I'm not staring at the pitcher or hitter for 3hrs, I like to hone in on other positions or angles to mix things up. Thankfully, that multi-pov experience doesn't only seem inevitable, it seems right around the corner to keep & make new fans.
