Do you think it will win this category. The Hollywood Foreign press just needs a big check from Sony to win. π

While I have not seen the movie yet (I think it's got a decent chance at finishing as one of the best of the year) I think a fair amount of the time a movie is listed as a 'Comedy' when it's not really a true comedy as to me true comedies are more of the straight comedy types (or close enough to that standard) where as some so-called comedies are only slightly of that type but mostly something else.
so given that info... I can't really see Once Upon a Time in Hollywood being a actual 'Comedy' given my impression of it from the trailer as while I suspect there might be some parts ill laugh, it's probably not going to be a movie I see and think 'That was a solid comedy'.

Makes more sense than nominating The Tourist in the same category.

What the hell else was it? It's pretty much a dramedy until the Manson family showed up...then it became a Tom and Jerry cartoon.

When it comes to analyzing and guessing if a story is more drama or more comedy, one should look at the ending. In this case, it's leaning more towards the latter. Not because the climax is funny, but because the resolution itself isn't tragic.
