I was skipping through Thor and realized that Erik Selvig says that he taught with Jane Foster's father at university. Bill Foster was a professor in Ant-Man and the Wasp. It'd be cool if they made him Jane Foster's father/adoptive father.

Didn't it feel like her dad was dead?

No that wouldn't work because in the context of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Jane's father is strongly implied to be dead and if she were Bill's daughter then the concept of Thor and Asgard would definitely not be as mind blowing of concepts to her compared to the research Bill conducted alongside Hank Pym - in fact chances are she would had already made mention of things already. Plus, take into count that by the time of the first Thor movie everyone on Earth thought Iron Man, Captain America, and the Hulk were the most fantastic as things could be in reality.

Also the Thor clone killed Bill Foster in the comics. That would be cool but would Marvel do that? Unlikely.
