So how would you rate Patrick Swayze (1952-2009) as an actor?
I have only seen 3 or 4 movies with him in, but i think he was good in all of them.

Loved him in Point Break, would have liked to have seen him in more villainous roles.

He was okay, but never really stood out. Except when they paired him with Keanu Reeves.

A better actor than people give him credit for.

Okay. He was really good in Point Break then kind of wooden in stuff like Tall Tale or Next of Kin. I did like him as an Americanized Allan Quatermain in the 2004 King Solomon's Mines miniseries.

He was in donnie darko, surprisingly. Two big movies for him were dirty dancing (1987) and ghost (1990) - ok, if you like those sort of romantic movies, I suppose. A macho actor with some intensity, he never really had a killer movie - Tarantino could of thrown him a bone?

He was very good as Veda in "To Wong Foo" Swayze made a beautiful woman and gave his Veda much soul and humanity. He became Veda the woman, not Swayze the man\actor.

I just can't imagine being willing to give up your own child because they were gay. Or even a cross dresser. It's so drastic and cold. No heart.

I like him in pretty much everything I've seen him in. Like a lot of films in his filmography too. Seemed like a cool guy. My sister loved him growing up and Keanu Reeves was her favourite actor, so 'Point Break' was a really big deal in our household.

He was so good in Ghost. As was Tony Goldwyn. Tony Goldwyn's performance as Carl is underrated.

Well when I think of Patrick Swayze I think of basically two movies that stand out...
1)Point Break (1991) - 8/10 2)Road House (1989) - 7/10
but between the two, when I think of the name Swayze, Road House (1989) tends to come to mind the most straight up because Point Break (1991) Swayze is a co-star and not THE star like he is in Road House (1989).
but with that said... I would imagine many will remember him for Dirty Dancing (1987), but I suspect that's more for the females than us males. so I guess Road House is probably the movie males thing of when they hear his name where as females it's probably Dirty Dancing.
with all of that said... how would I rate him as a actor, I would say he's solid enough at the very least as he's got a solid enough presence, especially in certain roles.

I remember his TV show "The Beast" that he did before he died and that show had some of Swayze's best acting of his career in it.
