Well-designed modern pressure cookers have very, very low risk of explosion when used properly. Why would you want to control a cooking pot from your phone? The whole point of a pressure cooker is to dramatically cut the amount of time it takes to cook a dish; it's the opposite of a slow-cooker. If you can't be bothered to directly monitor a cooking pot, you shouldn't be cooking.

My father bought it and used it semi-regularly, but I've never had need of it. A pressure cooker with WiFi...? Ridiculous.

I use one all the time. Grew up using one. My mom had one. The thing is, don't over-fill it, ensure there is enough liquid in it, don't do full-on heat/flame under it, and de-pressurize fully prior to opening. I run mine under cold water and wait until the button goes down. Then I hit the emergency release to see if anymore pressure needs to escape. I can say in the over 45 years I've used on, I've never had an incident.

Its a Pressure Cooker, Steamer & Air Fryer all in one. Been busy moving so I have only used it twice. Once for french fries and once made a whole chicken in it. Both turned out great. They are expensive but Ninja makes good products. So my guess is I will be using it for a decade or more. So to me its worth the money.

The way to duplicate the Colonel's Kentucky fried chicken at home is to deep fry with oil in a pressure cooker. I'd be scared to try it though.
