I miss cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper. Thank heaven for those machines that allow one to mix up one's own combos.
When I worked at Jack-in-the-Box in 1979, I answered the drive-thru bell to hear a guy singing the "I'm a Pepper" jingle, proceed tk order a Pepper with his meal & when he pulled up, he was driving a Dr. Pepper truck.

those 2-3 drinks are the only ones I can drink on a regular basis and not get tired of as I am not aware of another pop I won't get tired of drinking on a regular basis. I typically drink between 16-32oz of Mtn Dew/Coke each day with Dr Pepper being mixed in occasionally as when I am eating a meal, I am almost always going to be drinking one of those 2-3 drinks of which I tend to buy 2-liters in general.
I don't know how anyone likes diet over regular as diet tastes like crap.
p.s. based on popularity I think things rank like this... 1)Coca-Cola Classic 2)Diet Coke 3)Pepsi 4)Mountain Dew 5)Dr. Pepper. so my taste is pretty mainstream as I think diet tastes like crap and Pepsi is too sweet on it's aftertaste where as Coke is just right.

The manufacturer claims Dr Pepper is not made with prune juice. Okay, so it's artificially prune flavored. The ingredients are kept secret. Okay, so maybe it's made with plum juice. Prunes are dried plums anyway. Why not just be honest and admit it's a prune-flavored carbonated concoction?

I know Dr Pepper bottling responsibilities are shared by both coca-cola and Pepsi, depending on area. I live in an area where coke is responsible. I've only seen it in areas where Pepsi is responsible for the distribution.

I do like Dr. Pepper a lot. I like all soft drinks, though. Red Cream Soda being the exception. It tastes like medicine.

This thread influenced my decision to buy it I know what you mean. I quit drinking sodas a long time ago, although I love them. Now I think I'll stop tomorrow and buy a Pepper just to stroll down memory lane.
