I thought it was much better than expected. I didn't think much of all the trailers at all but I was entertained by it, I even prefer it to Ghostbusters 2 which was crap itself. It was funnier than I thought mainly. Agreed. I saw it in theaters, and I thought it was really fresh and clever. I also must have missed all the feminist agenda messages, blatant or subliminal. It just seemed like four silly women having fun. I also don't don't think misogynists are what caused it to fail. People get irritated when you rewrite their favorite classics. If they would have remade Star Trek with a female Kirk and Spock, I would probably skipped it for that reason. Off topic but on subject: the new Star Trek Series 'Discovery' coming out later this year is rumored to have 2 female leads (Spock/Kirk?) . As a male , I enjoy to see female leads , or at the least some equality between male/female leads . Maybe Ghostbusters (2016) was just too feminist ?

I really can't see a feminist agenda in Ghost Busters. It was fun flick, and Melissa McCarthy can do no wrong AFAIC. I think people just want to politicize everything. And the accusation that it failed because of misogynists is just ridiculous.

It isn't comparable to the original 1984 film. It wasn't as bad as all the hate it got suggests. Was it unnecessary? Yeah. And I'm not a huge fan of reboots. But it wasn't a terrible movie. It was enjoyable if average. It had decent special effects, the plot was interesting, and the cast was alright -- but everything was underserved by the writing. If only it had better writing and directing...
Humor is subjective, but I will say this: I did not find it to be a particularly funny movie. The jokes kinda fell flat in my theater. I mean, it was utterly silent.

I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would, but still it was at times almost fascinatingly how bad written it had become, with poor fart jokes being thrown around, and very little or no chemistry between any of the main characters. Chris Hemsworth alone draw the film down by several ratings by just being a horrible "actor" and I ended up fast-forwarding every scene that he appeared in, which was sadly far too many. Also the whole great city feel that was used so well in the first two movies are just not there, now New York City felt like the city of dead, instead of being a town that it's citizens are proud of protecting. I did not laugh once during the film, but I laughed like a maniac when coming over this article by The Guardian (which had to be a joke, right?) All-Female Ghostbusters Best Cultural Movie of 20163/10, that is only because I have a soft spot for Kirsten Wiig.

2nd worst film of 2016, imo. Right behind ID4 Resurgence.

Was better than expected but then again I had very low hopes for it, had nothing the original had and was more like a "remake" for the sake of a remake

2nd worst film of 2016, imo. Right behind ID4 Resurgence. What a disappointment Resurgence was. I really wanted it to be great, too, because Will Smith is such a little bitch anymore. Alas, it sucked.

Hot garbage, even worse than The Force Awakens. No stars.

I saw it as a redbox. If I paid 10.50 at the theater to see this, I might have set the building on fire and be at San Quentin right now.

If I wanted to watch a bunch of loud, obnoxious, stupid women talking bullshit then I would watch The View. Fuck this feminist piece of crap and anyone who watches it.

Sorry to say this, but women just aren't as funny as men, with the exception of Lucy. All those women in Ghostbusters THINK they're the greatest, and it comes through in their performances. And, to me, nobody's more heinous that Melissa McCarthy, who's made a career out of being loud, fat, and obnoxious. And that black chick was just beyond my comprehension. This is funny?
