Let me put it this way. I've done more to help customers at stores than I've ever seen employees help customers.

Yes, at the Publix near me I'm convinced management has ordered the employees to offer help even without being asked. They'll stop what they're doing and go look for the item with you.

Employees are quite helpful where Catman shops. At one place, that's even in their motto: A Helpful Smile in Every Aisle. And they live up to that.

For all your hardware needs, I recommend True Value. When you go into one of their stores, you are greeted as you enter by someone who asks if you need any help. So, if you are looking for one screw or one size nail, a person will take you right to the spot. Otherwise, if you want to browse, they will leave you alone.
