So Clark and Lois are jumped by some thug in an alley, Clark stops the bullet and the guy ends up running off. So Superman had no problem letting an armed mugger with no qualms about killing just run around the city? I know he didn't wanna reveal himself yet at that point, but shouldn't he have tried to stop the guy before he actually did kill someone?

I didn’t notice that actually. Guess you could say he took care of him offscreen and we never got to see it. Not that it’s an important plot thread to see be resolved as it’s very minor.

You can tell by that scene alone that Kal-El isn't some galactic police officer. He was busy acting for Lois.

Good point! I know they did it so as to keep the focus on him and her but you are right. He could have thrown a trash can into the air without her noticing and the guy is shown running down the alley and after they stop talking, we see the can fall and hit the guy. That might have worked. I think it has the best drama scenes of any superhero movie but too much comedy. And it needed a big robot in Luthor's lair for Superman to wrestle.

Maybe Superman knows seeing bullets fly off a man’s chest would be a life changing experience for the thug.

He ended up going over to Gotham City from Metropolis and killing Bruce Wayne's parents thus setting off a chain of events that led to Batman.

I've always been bothered that his "disguise" is a pair of glasses and combing his hair. Does Louis have a brain tumor or something?

Yeah, what we didn't see is that when Supes flies around at super speed and backs up time he goes back to when the muggers parents are about to have sex and he cock blocks the dad to be and Supes gets the wife pregnant instead and she gives birth to The Flash.

Superman has usually been an immediate danger kind of guy.

Meh, irrelevant! The thug could have gotten up to anything and his experience might have freaked him out anyway.

There's a quote in the Paul Bettany action movie legion where his character Micheal tells Gabriel "that he gave God what he asked for not what he needed" that's how I feel about man of steel MOS was the superman film I needed, Reeve's superman was the superman film I asked for.

He used his superspeed to check the guy's record and found out he had a mother named Martha so he had to let him go.

I don't remember that scene, but there is a lot of stuff that bothers me about Superman (1978).

I've always been bothered that his "disguise" is a pair of glasses and combing his hair. Does Louis have a brain tumor or something? Everyone know that his "disguise" is silly and nobody in reality would not notice that if they were in Lois Lane's position. That is something that has never bothered me, because I feel like it is meant to be purposely funny.
