The 49ers have crushed teams. The Pats are barely beating bad teams. Say what? Patriots point differential against their opponents - 189 49ers point differential - 133 Patriots have had one close game - won by 6 points 49ers have had two close games - won by 3 points & 4 points Patriots and 49ers have played three teams in common. Patriots outscored them 93 - 23 49ers outscored them 64 - 23 The numbers do not support your statement.

Other than the national press saying they don't look so good.

The Patriots have to be #1 in any Power Rankings. I am sorry, but they do and it is not even an argument. They are the defending champs and they have yet to lose. They have an incredible defense, Big Bill, and Brady. Can you honestly tell me that the Saints or Niners are better or would be favored in a game against them? Yes. The Saints, Niners, and the Packers would be favored in a game against them. These power rankings are just a report on how well these teams have played so far. And how good they have looked. It's not a prediction of how good or well they will play in the future. If and when they play better or worse, their rankings will change. But so far, the Saints, the 49ers and the Packers have played better and looked better than the Patriots. The Patriots won the Super Bowl last year. These power rankings are for this year. You're wrong, but okay.

For N.O. Saints fans - Once again, what would you rather be? Best team at mid season? Or best team at the end?)What do you think? What about best team before week one, like the Eagles? DeSean Jackson core muscle surgery, likely out for the season.

These are my individual team power rankings of the top four; 1) New Orleans Saints - have played the toughest schedule. Keep winning despite injuries to key players. More experience than the 49er team. (Keep in mind - this makes three years in a row the Saints are arguably the best team in the NFL at mid season. But for some reason, they have failed in the post season twice. What would you rather be - the best team at mid season? Or the best team at the end?)
2) San Francisco 49ers - two impressive wins against mediocre teams - the LA Rams and the Carolina Panthers. But the rest of their schedule has been easy. No injuries. Young inexperienced team. 3) Green Bay Packers - great quarterback, but have been inconsistent. 4) New England Patriots - super easy schedule. But they are reining Super Bowl Champions (Traditionally the Pat's screw around in the first half of the season. Get it together in the second half, and kick ass in the playoffs.
They benefit every year from a terrible division. And this year their regular season schedule is a joke.
The Patriots won't be tested until post season.
For N.O. Saints fans - Once again, what would you rather be? Best team at mid season? Or best team at the end?)What do you think? I would exchange the Packers with the Ravens. And the 49er haven't been tested so far. Just like the Pats before the last Sunday.
