I used to have a jigsaw puzzle featuring a picture of the three rivers. You got the Allegheny, the Ohio, and whatever the other one is. On a side note, nuts, lately I've been swimming an hour a day in the East River, and there's been a strange smell that my friends have been noticing. I'm starting to think that East River might be polluted.

The major fire in Sonoma county is a few hours away from Santa Cruz, but I've been part of the fun of the PG&E power blackouts. Luckily, we have a generator that we run for chunks of the day, but this has been a major pain in the ass for LOTS of folks. They shut power off last week for 48 hours, this weekend for over 24 hours, and supposedly are gonna do it again tomorrow night.

And Three Rivers was a cookie cutter. I was there a few times. No great loss. A great view, from the outside. From the inside, nada

I loved how all of the old multipurpose stadiums looked alike. Classic! Could be Three Rivers, could be Riverfront, could be the Vet...

The other loss is crowd noise. Heinz is an infinitely better stadium (and PNC is at least twice as good as Heinz), but the cookie cutters held in noise. Home field advantage isn't the same anymore.

I'm in the East bay, the air is ridiculous. PG&E needs to pay for this shit. Time to get some other companies in here.

They have been responsible for most of these fires, including the one in Paradise last year that killed over 80 people. Now, apparently the plan is to shut power off anytime the winds are over 20 mph, basically holding millions of people hostage because of their ineptness. This should be a much bigger story on a national level. California's biggest power company has basically turned into Michael Myers, showing up every October to turn regular folks lifes into living hell. If this was happening on the East Coast, there would be much more of a clamor about it. At some point tonight, power will be shut off again, probably lasting till Thursday. That's right, kids, there's a chance they'll be no trick or treating this year, cuz they'll be no lights, thanks to the good folks at PG&E.

These scumbags cause all these fires and as a result of their stupidity, people have to suffer without power now. How does this continue? I hope the governor institutes some massive changes in the near future and if there's any justice PGE will go down, and I mean out forever.
