The Milk Cup, the Coca-Cola Cup, the Rumbelows Cup, the Capital One Cup, the Littlewoods Cup - what else? The Trotters Independent Traders Cup (or TIT) the Wankers R US Cup and the Christ knows what else Cup. But it's the League Cup, for crying out loud.
At 7.30 it's Liverpool v Arsenal. Klopp is likely to field a quite a sizeable mixture of fringe players and youngsters for this one and his side is 1/1 for the 90 minute win. Mesut Ozil played in the last round but has not been seen since, so perhaps there may be a return appearance for him. Arsenal come in at 23/10 for the 90 minutes.
At 7.45 Aston Villa take on Wolves who I would guess is one of the EPL sides that's played most games in all comps this season? Wolves keeper Patricio will be rested and John Ruddy will take up the gloves for Wolves who will likely leave Jiminez and Traore on the bench and for Villa Jack Grealish is doubtful due to back issues. It's 6/5 the home, 23/10 the away in 90 minutes.
At 8.05 it's Chelsea v Man Utd. The last time these two met was on opening day at Old Trafford when Utd thrashed out a 4-0 hiding to new coach Lampard's boys. Since then CFC have climbed to 4th in the table while Utd find themselves 7th after being in the lower half of the table before beating Norwich last week. Giroud may get a rare outing in some form tonight while the reliable Caballero should replace Kepa between the sticks. With a few middle-tier injuries Utd may see action from Rojo, Mata and Romero as well as a dose of youth, Chong and perhaps Greenwood included. CFC rock up at 10/11 in 90 minutes while United are on offer for 14/5.

Worst case scenario for me - Villa/Wolves, hate them both with a passion but have to hope Wolves win it. Or ideally, it really kicks off in the crowd and the game is abandoned and both are thrown out of the cup.

It's a classic own goal by Mustafi who slid in on the low cross and self-potted in the traditional manner. 1-0 Pool.

There's both sides scoring inside 20 minutes as Torreira taps Arsenal level at Anfield.

The goals are flowing as Martinelli shifts Arsenal ahead on '26 with a very close range smasher, close like one yard.
