What with living alone and getting less sure of his grip on the glassware due to arthritis (especially when washing the dishes), Catman decided it was time to replace the glass with plastic. Much better than getting a nasty gash on the hand and having to drive himself to the emergency room.
Probably will be better in the long run for when Catwoman can come home.
