Temperature dropped from 90 to 33 in the past week. It's 61 in the house, and I'm not turning the furnace on. Not ready for all that burning dust.
I'm thinking of things that are hotter than normal when eaten. I don't eat eggs, but feel free to recommend anything warm.
Had a steamed brown-rice bowl with green onions, parsley, and ground black sesame this morning, but it's really only the coffee keeping my insides warm.

A good quality brand steaming hot porridge (with as much added sugar as you can take) should do the trick. With full fat milk.

I love hashed potatoes with some fried up ground sausage mixed in, peppers, and onions. I eat mine with ketchup, but salt and pepper is perfect too.

NJtoTX Someone said: That's a good idea but forget the ketchup. You want to warm up put this on your hash browns. In the winter I put it on my scrambled eggs and omelettes also. But I don't stop there. When its cold I will put some in chili, spaghetti sauce, stewed tomato's and macaroni, etc.

Not a butter person, either. Ironically, my great uncle Jake was a butter and egg man. Left NJ in 1979 for a job in the Bay Area. Left the Bay Area in 2001 for a job in Austin. And because I was getting priced out.

I often just eat a big bowl of soup for breakfast. I have "weird breakfasts", in the hot weather I'll eat a green salad for breakfast.

I usually have oatmeal with a little brown sugar and pecans. I just make it in the microwave and it's pretty hot that way.

I just don't have a big appetite in the morning - even less so after I've had my one cup of strong coffee with a dollop of cream added. That's usually enough to get me through to early afternoon, with maybe a sip or two of a good smoothie. But I'm not ready for solid foods until later in the day.

Today I made rolled oats and it all stayed hot until I finished it. 1 C rolled oats 1 C almond milk 1 C water TBSP sesame seeds TBSP poppy seeds TSP caraway seeds TBSP chia seeds Trader Joe "Everything But the Bagel" - Gets a little salt in there. Already some in the almond milk. TSP vanilla extract Instant Pot, 3 min porridge setting, 10 minutes sitting before quick release A quarter-packet of stevia dusting

I did. This place? Not that I remember. I was living on Piedmont, not very happy, working in San Jose. Didn't get on campus much. Mostly hung out in record stores. www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/UC-Berkeley-closes-Bear-s-Lair-campus-pub-4102314.php

yes it was the happening spot near campus. Only served beer and wine at that time because hard liquor was not allowed within a mile of campus. Piedmont would be a great place to live now. But it may have been too slow for my taste in those days. That was quite a commute! When you mentioned record stores, you brought back tons of memories. Tower records closed their last outlet last summer, I think ?? I loved book stores, too. That was my pastime.
