I'm going in on a sweet white lads!
Moscatel de Valencia.
'Pale golden colour, sweet aromatic flavours of peaches and honey with hints of grapefruit'... allegedly 😉

Having a 2018 Merlot from the Valle Central region of Chile for lunch today lads...
The Valle Central is home to some of the most well-balanced Merlots, apparently.

I went to check out Lidl for wines to try last week.
No notes on bottle labels, nor the shelf blurb as to which are vegan or not.
I asked to speak to the shop manager. Told him to mark all the vegan friendly wines' shelf blurb with a V in a circle, then vegans will know which are suitable for their diet.
He was very receptive to the idea... I will go back in a few weeks, see if they have adopted it.

2016 vintage Italian Barbera for Monday lunch for the lads today... NB... unlike Lidl, the Co-op, as well as other UK supermarkets, know the commercial benefits of clearly labelling which wines are vegan friendly 👏 It's not hard Lidl, a simple V in a circle let's people know it's vegan friendly. Sort it out innit. I was in a shop last week, it had a sign saying 'All our wines, beers, and ciders are vegan friendly. It was a beautiful thing, you can just see what you fancy without then trying to work out if it's vegan friendly or not.

A good read that 👍 But if they can't be arsed to put a wee circled V on those wines, they're gonna lose sales.

I saw in a Happy Birthday thread that our dear departed Father Jack's birthday is today!
Happy Birthday ere ye may be!

Not that I am very knowledgeable about wine or anything, but I don't think I've ever seen any sparkling red wine outside of Italy.

Banfi Rosa Regale is pretty good! It's an Italian red sparkling that's pretty widely distributed. @ned

Finished off a bottle of Rasteau 2016 yesterday. French red from Lidl.
£6.99.
92 points out of 100, which is one of their highest ratings.
The kicker .. 15% proof!
Quite smooth.

Might try a bottle at the weekend, although you've probably started a run on it with your write-up.
