Phils have outrighted Jerad Eickhoff Comes as a shocker to me - although a disappointment over the years and faced injury issues - they need pitching and they had him under control for one more year - very cheap at $1.5 million. Every Phillies pitcher not named Aaron Nola sucks the sweat from a dead guy’s balls. Eickhoff can be replaced by throwing a dart at a list of names.

Every Phillies pitcher not named Aaron Nola sucks the sweat from a dead guy’s balls. Eickhoff can be replaced by throwing a dart at a list of names. I probably would have brought him to Clearwater in February when pitchers and catchers report and then cut bait before the season if he didn't show anything. I guess they're going to load up on pitching this Winter Meetings season which is great. He's gone, Neshek, Vargas, Hughes. Looks like the last guy sticking around from the Hamels trade is Nick Williams - and I don't expect him to be on the opening day roster either. Excited there's all of this talk of Donaldson, Rendon and Moose - which means Franco is as good as gone and there's rumors swirling Hernandez may be gone too. Sign Moose for 3rd (if they can't get Rendon or Donaldson), Didi for short, move Segura over to 2nd (he's played some second), and hang onto Rhys - hopefully they can fix his swing and he'll have a better season than last. I haven't heard anything whether McCutchen is on schedule for opening day. Hoping they get rid of Herrera too - they just reinstated him after his suspension but that doesn't mean they'll keep him. Read an article last night they're well under the luxury tax threshold (think it was around $206 mil or so - jettisoning Franco and Hernandez clears more room too) - and they could go on another spending spree.

Careful what you wish for, you might get it. Look at the Red Sox and the pickle they're in. Too much salary tied up into starters that are underperforming.

Cole Hamels states he'd be open to re-uniting with the Phils on a 1 year deal and the ball is in their court.
Been begging for this for years.
Do it Klentak. Do it.

Cavan Biggio finishes 5th in AL ROY voting. Vladdy Jr. finishes 7th.
It'd be funny if it wasn't stupid.

Mets hitting coach Chili Davis a finalist for Phillies Hitting Coach job - if the Mutts don't want him why the hell should we It's not that the Mets don't want him, he was part of Mickey's crew so when you change managers, so go the coaches typically. The Mets offense was actually pretty good last year, certainly better than it had been in prior years. They found themselves in the top half/third in pretty much every statistical category and that's with a few holes in the lineup. I was hoping they'd bring Chili Davis back, but I guess it's not meant to be.

I think the Houston Astros need to turn their stove off before it burns the league down.

I think the Houston Astros need to turn their stove off before it burns the league down. I guess nobody got the joke. They're being investigated sign stealing. This from the organization boasting to female reporters that they've got Roberto F'n Osuna.

Looks like the big moves have started early.
Was expecting this in December.
Braves ink closer Will Smith to a 3 year deal.

Nice pickup although I’m never a fan of signing relievers beyond two years for guys not names Rivera or Chapman. Still, gives them a really strong backend if Melancon can rekindle his dominance.

Pirates hire a new GM
Ben Cherington.
Apparently he was in the Red Sox and Blue Jays organizations.

A move that flew under the radar to me -
Happened a couple of weeks ago.
Cubbies hire former Phils pitching coach Chris Young as bullpen coach.
Well this confirms it - Cubs are in tank mode - and maybe the rumors 3B Kris Bryant will in fact be dealt this Winter Meetings Season are true.
