I just watched this on Netflix, and it was pretty gruesome. I thought the design of the clown was cool and the restaurant scene was pretty creepy. What did everyone else think of the movie?

Sinister movie. Creepy in the dark.

I thought the design of the clown was cool and the restaurant scene was pretty creepy. Those are the only real positives I'd give it (although this is the second or third appearance of said clown character in a movie, so even that is with reservation). The rest is schlocky garbage, that's trying to be way more disturbing and edgelordy than its terrible gore effects can afford. I really hated it, and I also really hate All Hallows Eve (which it's spunoff from). Whoever this director is, fuck him.

I just watched All Hallows’ Eve on Halloween. It was pretty weak and definitely preferred this one, which was just a straightforward and gruesome slasher.
It’s pretty decent despite feeling very basic and nothing much else to offer, aside from its gore, and I liked Art a lot.

Didn't care for 'All Hallow's Eve' but I enjoy 'Terrifier' as a stand-alone film.

All Hallows Eve on account of having less of the clown guy. Shame the actor's talent is wasted on such shitty movies.

Actually didn't know about any spin-offs etc. Watched it as part of last years challenge, it has some truly gross moments - some wickedly sly contemporary scenes (hello selfie!!!!) - and some really freaky sequences such as the aforementioned resto scene, and when he's cycling around and around on a kiddies tricycle.
But it does sort of get tiresome come the final quarter, the premise milked to death to the point where the big surprise at the finale actually lacks any sort of impact. 6/10 but I really couldn't bother to watch it again.

Yeah, and I also think the acting is a lot worse. From what I remember Terrifier had pretty okay acting from the cast, minus the clown who was exceptionally great. These movies sure aren’t everyone’s cup of tea.

I hate it, but it certainly disturbs and unsettles like no movie I’ve ever seen.
