I saw Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom yesterday and liked it. I don't think it is as good as the original JP or the first JW, but for me it is the 3rd best in the franchise. I would rate it 8/10.

Incredibles 2 - Fun movie.
Not nearly as good as the first but very enjoyable. Brad Bird has a weird eye for action scenes and all of them in this movie are top notch.
I like it when action is done in real time rather than slo-mo. Jack Jack is adorable & brilliantly used (I forgot that no one actually knew he had powers in the first one) but I also think that he hampered the story a bit. So much of the movie was a reaction to his abilities that the family stuff seemed broken up & Dash was largely comic effect. Violet and Elastigirl were the stars of the show which I can only assume means this movie will be accused of Mary Sue-ing.

Kind of thought they used a villain reveal that was too close to the first movie... (don't want to post spoilers).

I thought the whole movie was largely similar in plot to the first outside of jack Jack which is fine with me but also made it feel slightly derivative. That said, as familiar as the plot points were, the action scenes, music, & actual dialogue were completely different which what made it great. It kinda reminds me of Force Awakens where a similar plot is wrapped in new way which causes me to love it.

I liked Incredibles 2 even more than the first one. The villain was a little weak and predictable, but otherwise it was fantastic. Jack Jack is my hero.

Just watched Kingsman Golden Circle...It's probably good....but just barely. It doesn't come close to as memorable as the first imo and it far too long. Couldve seriously shaved off about 30-45 minutes of this film...pretty much everything until Galahad comes back into the picture, and even a little after, was pretty dull...save the opening action sequence. Most of the action itself is pretty fun. A lot of the characters feel very cheesy tho. Elton John, as a character was very corny, tho i did like his moments on the soundtrack. The overly cowboy stereotypes of the Statesmen (US version of Kingsmen) was also kind of cheesy. I get it, but it felt off. Tho Pedro Pascal action scenes were solid. I hated his accent tho. Basically for every thing i liked about it i thought there was something else i hated. So maybe it's probably just average. *spoiler* It also loses a point for losing Sophie Cookson so early. I don't remember her being so gorgeous in the original film but she is downright stunning in this one. I was really looking forward to seeing more of her. So sad.

Westworld Season 2....spoilers...i was as engrossed with season 2 as I was with season 1. I think watching Dolores and others come to self awareness was far more interesting than the immediate aftermath. It still had plenty of interesting spots tho. I loved The Man in Black in the town with the renegade soldiers, when he had become Death. I like some of the stuff between him and his daughter, but I honestly hated how it ended. Her death lacked a real emotional impact partly because of the way the show is. I just never expected her to be really dead. Maeve’s story was very good. I don’t know where it will go from here but I hope she remains a main character. Some of the stuff just felt too metaphysical and convoluted at times. Like...am I seeing reality or not. I think that’s intentional but at the same time it becomes hard to follow. All in all I’m still enjoying the show...but I preferred the first season.

Rampage
Fresh from his exertions on Skull Island, Rampage finds Dwayne Johnson confronting monster beasts all over again: namely a gigantic wolf, gorilla and crocodile, after genetic splicing goes awry. Unlike the earlier film though, which was passable enough but ultimately only saved by Jack Black's camping it up, Rampage is a much more enjoyable guilty pleasure which takes it own inherent nonsense gleefully in its stride. Director Brad Peyton was also responsible for San Andreas and his new film is far less flimsy and more engaging, while The Rock's characteristic self-deprecation is welcome. Monster fans will appreciate the inspiration lovingly drawn from Japanese kaiju , while the love interest is not allowed to get in the way of the stupendous final act.

I thought Rampage was too campy. The best part for me, was when the soldiers were in the forest and hunting the wolf, only to have the tables turned. It reminded me a little of Predator. The rest was kiddie fare, in my opinion, except for the gore. I didn't enjoy it at all.

GLOW season 2....i was a childhood wrestling fan, so this show hits a kind of nostalgia in basic theme. But i really do enjoy it. Its got a collection of oddball character types. Marc Maron and Alison Brie are the main reasons to keep coming back to it tho. They are the heart and coked out soul of the show. Season 2 seemed to have more emphasis on the non wrestling part of their show...promos and infomercials and stuff like that...one episode is pretty much dedicated to creating the opening intro which is fun but nobody really gets bodyslammed. The only episode that kind of lost me for a bit was the one that played as if you were watching tv at 2 am. I think it was episode 8. I get what they were going for there...having an episode with that 4th wall in tact...but i just kind of didnt like it. Its an enjoyable series tho that i don't feel i have to get strongly invested in to enjoy.

I do think it focused more on the wrestling. I didn't like Marin's character devolving in the beginning of the season, but he was fantastic in the second half.
There were a number of touching scenes. I loves the Welfare Queen episode.

Rome - I'm trying to go back and watch older HBO classics I didn't catch.
Rome is great but it's obviously rushed in the second season. It was almost dizzying how much stuff happened within a few episodes. While it would have been fine if this was set up as a mini-series, their focus on characters hampered their stories.
That said, kudos to them for trying to make an ending for it once they fond out they would be cancelled.
As much as I liked the main character, it was annoying that he became anything the story called for to ensure he was a part of the history.
Speaking of history, I am shocked how much I didn't know about Roman history. That Cleopatra was a freak.
Now onto Sopranos...
Breaking Bad - I finally decided to watch and while not one of my favorites yet, I definitely get the appeal. Very well acted and directed. It's neat to see what I believe so far is the better production of Better Call Saul reflected in the earlier series. Gilligan is a TV genius.
Speaking of Saul Goodman, the show got immediately better at his introduction.

I haven't mentioned many movies lately and that's because I've seen a bunch but none of them have wowed me. But here's a couple I enjoyed.
Coco - The movie is beautiful to watch. It was mildly entertaining although it bugs me how the kid got to the afterlife. The adventure is pretty standard stuff although the family dynamic is neat.
This would have been an underwhelming PIXAR if not for the final act which is superb. In the space of 15 minutesor so, I was weepy twice.
Ant-Man & Wasp - It was funny. The action was better when it focused on Wasp. the story was funny when it focused on Rudd & crew.
I would have been fine if the only villain was Goggins, but they chose to include ghost lady.

I tried watching "Avengers:Infinity War", got bored and turned it off. I'm pretty much convinced super hero films are only good when they just concentrate on a few crime fighters and not try to cram every Marvel character in one movie.

I've been watching Better Call Saul from the beginning and love it. I think the season 4 premiere is/was this week.
I think it's the better show honestly. Although it's in the same universe, the vibe is different.
Funny enough, as dark as Breaking Bad is and as light as Saul is supposed to be, Breaking Bad is funnier. I am routinely laughing my butt off on some scenes.

Back to TV:
Better Things - So Louis CK is doomed. He is scum of the earth and defiler of women. I get all of that.
However, he also happens to the writer and producer for one of the best shows about women out there. Every time I watch this I look to see the writer and almost the whole second season was written by him and directed by the star Adelon.
It's very similar to Louis' old show, but the stories are better told. I liked the first season but this one is not quite as funny but far more touching most of the time with some truly hilarious bits.
I highly recommend lifting the boycott on Louis CK just long enough to watch the show.
Not sure how it will be with him gone. I'm going to assume the lead contributed quite a bit even without the writing credit.

My current favorite theme song. I'm pretty confident it's going to replace one on my all time list. It get sme ready for a show that is grossly underrated.
Succession - Maybe there are outlets that talk about this show but not the typical entertainment ones. It's fantastic. Far more enjoyable than Sharp Objects & Westworld this season.
It may seem boring to see another show about the problems of rich people, but this show does everything right. You hate/love the whole family just enough to pity them rather than root for them. Each one of them do truly horrible things but also suffer quite a bit at the hand of their father. And the father suffers because his kids are horrible. After all, they think like him.
I also like how the show reveal the warts of rich people. One dude's girlfriend is an escort he pays for company, the father has gone through a host of wives, the daughter is marrying a goofy dude for appearances, etc...
It's very well written and funny and highly recommended.

I don't normally watch them a second time. I will like Infinity War more depending on the sequel.
