Master of None - I thought this show was way overrated ;last season. There were a couple of episodes I truly loved, some I liked, and most I found boring and pointless...Like a less funny Seinfeld.
This season, I have made a 180 on it and love it. It's amazing. There are at least 2 episodes so far that I would describe as perfect 10's.
The "New York, I Love You" & "The Thief" episodes are ridiculously good, but I would say no episode dropped below and 8 for me.
It's holding me up from watching the new (& final :'9) season of Sense8

Still in my rewatch of Lost...midway thru season 4. Season 3 is my favorite so far. I loved the progression of Kate and Sawyer as a thing and Sawyer as a leader...and the addition of several Others characters were all very good. Namely Juliet, Ben and Milhail. Plus the Desmond/Charlie situation was emotional.
Season 4 so far is good. It moves pretty fast and the flash forwards dangle that carrot perfectly for 'what the hell happened to everyone else?'

I think my favorite seasons are the first two but a lot of my favorite individual episodes are in the later seasons, particularly 3 and 4.

Kind of a small gem that was one of my fave episodes in s3 was the one where Hurley Sawyer Jin and Charlie fix up the old van. I loved that episode and it has very little overarching plot. Which at this point in the series is few and far between.

Leftovers - I've been travelling a lot and missed the finale. I came back to town and after the requisite hugs and kisses for family, I plopped down and watched the finale.
It was brilliant.
The neatest thing abut it is the whole time the writers had said that they would never reveal the vanishing which they stayed true to.
However, they also managed to flesh out what happened during the vanishing and where he people went. One of the few shows to provide a real sense of closure to the story which is really saying something considering how open ended the plot was throughout it's existence.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - So after I watched Leftovers, it was time to focus on family again and I had repeatedly broken my promise to my youngest son regarding this movie. So I take him last night.
It was probably as good as the first one but without the surprise factor of how good it was if that makes sense.
I would say this one was more adult - Lots of cussing and sex discussion. Plus there was a surprising amount of death as a good thing. I only notice all of this because I was with my kids.
The big battle was a silly and predictable as most Marvel movies, but the actual ending was very sweet.

Agree about the surprise factor of GotG2. Where the first film caught us off guard with the characters this one did not...and it suffered slightly because of it. Still very enjoyable tho.

I'm not going to waste time on the bad and mediocre stuff. Why waste valuable typing time describing stuff that sucks? I'm only promoting stuff that is bringing their A Game....Well maybe a B+ Game too. Uncharted 4 - This series has got to be my favorite franchise ever. This game is amazing. it's beautiful to look at , has movie level writing, great action, & great drama. It may have the best ending(s) I have ever played. The way it paces itself through the action and the story just hooks me. Imo, the gameplay itself is slightly less than Uncharted 3, but the overall experience is better than all of them. My favorite non-gaming part is Nathan being in a market. It is full of people and they are all doing individual stuff and I spent a lot of time just watching them. I followed this guy carrying a ladder. He takes the ladder, places it next to the wall, climbs it, & then starts painting the wall blue. Who does this level of detail for a person you are supposed to just walk by? It;s great. If anyone loves action adventure games as opposed to FPS, it doesn't get much better than this. Big Little Lies - This show seems like a typical story about rich white people, but it's way better than that. I can't even explain it without it sounding like it's a typical show about rich white women and their angst. So just watch it. The acting is on another level and especially between Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman. Nicole Kidman is getting an Emmy. A great thing about a lot of HBO shows is their use of music and the music and cutscenes play pivotal roles in setting the mood of the show. It also blends in the lives of the men and the kids. It's a great show. The Leftovers - Season 3 started last night and it's as trippy as last season. Pound for pound, last season was probably my favorite show of that year with International Assassin just barely being beat out by Game of Thrones episode 9. It once again spin off in a different direction while holding to the same themes. The opening prologue is beautiful and sad in the same way last season's was. No one is going to watch it, but it is so good it's sad so many miss it's greatness. Kudos for HBO giving it a final season. New Kid in Town by the Eagles.

A few new things:
Spiderman: Homecoming - Spiderman 2 still takes the top prize but this one is easily the second best for me although it has little to do with the Spiderman portion which is the weakest part. The action is not great & the Vulture, while a great character played well by Michael Keaton, is murky looking and the battle with Spiderman nothing special.
What makes the movie great is the fact that it's really just a high school angst movie that is well written and funny. I did not read comics at the time Spider-man was this young, so Toby McGuire's version is more familiar to me. However, if Spiderman was a teen, I think this movie captures that feeling perfectly.
Wonder Woman - This movie is pretty doggone awesome. I can't fault most of it and it is the best super hero movie this year. Actually does the impossible and makes me look forward to the Justice League movie. It manages to keep the same look and feel of the DC universe while being far better story wise. Although the ending was a bit generic, there were at least a couple of action sequences that were pretty cool to see such as the all female army and Wonder Woman's [on the nose] crossing of No Man's Land.
Highly recommended whether a feminist or not
The Handmaiden - To hard to explain but it's a good Korean caper movie with an interesting twist that is explained a bit more than it should be. It's still a lesser known movie that is worth a watch on Amazon

Not a lot of topnotch stuff out there, but after Ozark & Game of Thrones, decided to pick something light on Hulu
I'm watching their first seasons & both of the shows confuse me to know end since I hate nearly everyone, but they are funny &/or thought provoking
The Last Man On Earth - The title seems like a misnomer, but it's funny. The main character is such a ridiculously bad guy I can't like him and I can't feel sorry for him. It suffers from something that Game of Thrones is guilty of too - It forces ridiculous developments in order for the story to be enjoyable. Is it still deus ex machina if it's based on a bad thing happening to miraculously create a dilemma rather than a solution?
Still the show is very funny and is so unpredictable I have no idea where it's going episode to episode so it makes for a nice diversion on work days.
Rick & Morty - Adult cartoon that fits nicely with my love for Bojack Horseman (Coming soon!). I heard all the buzz surrounding season 3 so decided to start watching. It is not a hilarious show because it's humor relies on me thinking too much. But what it makes me think about, I can't stop thinking about. I'm on episode 6 of the first season and the ending was so bizarre, it seems to either defeat or justify the point of the show. I haven't figured it out yet. I wind up looking like Morty at the end of that episode.
Again, I hate the characters completely, but the stories represent some great writing.

Last of Us - I almost didn't include this since I probably won't be finishing it for a while. I am stuck in a hotel with a big disease infested zombie dude and his cronies in what I assume is a boss battle. It stressed me out too much so I haven't gone back to it.
However, it looks gorgeous, the story would make a great movie so far from what I've watched. It reminds me of Children of Men with zombies. Their version of zombies, clickers, are truly an interesting bunch that evolve in a more natural way than a typical zombie.
I know I'll love it eventually, but the camera angles are too wonky for me right now to figure out what's going in the dark. I decided t start something a little lighter.
Horizon Zero Dawn - Love it. I'm only a few hours in, but I love the combat and the story is pretty decent too. As with every PS4 game I own, the visuals are gorgeous. The combat is just challenging enough to not be frustrating and the options are varied. If you are into Zelda or Uncharted games, this is a good one to scratch that itch.

Ozark...binge watched it in about a week. Very solid. Bateman is the kind of actors who's dry delivery works just as well in drama as it does comedy and the supporting cast was superb. If you like shows like Breaking Bad this is right up your alley.

If you like shows like Breaking Bad this is right up your alley. I came close to mentioning it here, but there were too many episodes I didn;t particularly care for. The first episode and the last 3 were top notch though. The finale was bonkers. Bateman is a great director.

I played the first one but not the last one.
I'm hoping it'll be super cheap during holiday time.
I'm playing Horizon now, InFamous Second Son is next, so I may get it after that.

Picked up Destiny 2 yesterday. Pretty fun so far. Lot of dungeon crawling fps shooting aliens and stuff. Sounds and visuals are amazing.

Bojack is back! Halfway through the season. The time jumping of episode 2 was sooo well done. I finished the season last week and I'm still thinking about it.
It's weird that as I'm watching them, I'm thinking it's a lesser season because there hasn't been a particular focus and I was kinda disliking the whole daughter subplot, but I am probably thinking about the show more than any other season.
By the end of it, the season came together..
That Piece of S**t episode needs to be shown at Depression Anon meetings everywhere.
The "I'm tired of squinting" thing was just amazing, one of the best breakup lines ever.
It's so depressing with just the faintest glimmers of hope that we know aren't going to last (That Princess Caroline episode ).
If not for Mr. Peanutbutter, it would be a tough show to watch.

Still watching Last Man on Earth too. The 2nd season is overall much better than 1 which was good largely for just being funny.
Season 2 has me caring much for the characters themselves including Tandy.
The episode with the astronaut getting back to earth is my favorite.

Started One Punch Man...it's fantastic. Basically a parody of superhero and anime. The main character, Saitama, is hilariously normal despite his godlike abilities. He's just doing this hero thing as a hobby!
