Started One Punch Man...it's fantastic. Basically a parody of superhero and anime. The main character, Saitama, is hilariously normal despite his godlike abilities. He's just doing this hero thing as a hobby! I've watched the first few episodes and it is funny. So far the title is extremely accurate.

Better Things - I just got to add another perfect episode to my list.
I kind of started watching this show out of boredom since the episodes are only 22 minutes on Hulu. The show is kinda funny in a Louis C.K. kind of way. Very similar setup. It's not entirely linear so it's easy to pick and choose shows.
The episode I just watched is season one episode 5 and I think it's called Future Fever and it is straight up perfect - funny, sad, downright heartbreaking at times, & finally uplifting.
A must watch.

I've been watching roughly a horror movie a day as part of the horror boards October challenge. For the most part they've been enjoyable I think only 2 or 3 duds out of 20+ so far. That's mostly what I've been watching.
Been playing Fortnite Battle Royale a ton. It's free and quite enjoyable. Very addictive.

I listen to a ton of podcasts. It's pretty much all I do while driving.
My current podcasts of choice:
This American Life - The gold standard as far as I'm concerned
It's Been A Minute - This is a standard current events on it's Friday Weekly Wrap (I don;t listen to the Tuesday one where he interviews someone) show that has the host, Sam Sanders, inviting other NPR reporters or guests on to discuss topics of the day. That part isn't too terribly special though the conversations really feel like a group of friends talking.
What makes the podcast stand out is the section about the best thing that happened to listeners that week and it is truly something special. It's about 3 or 4 minutes of the show, so if the show concept itself doesn't interest you, that section is always going to be worth fast forwarding to.
The Moth - One of the first and, in my opinion, the best storytelling broadcast.
Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me- The best comedy game show in podcast land.
Snap Judgement - A slightly hipper take on This American Life
/Filmcast - A movie review show. I usually don;t stick around for the review and especially after they get to their spoiler section. They tend to see movies immediately and I tend to wait. However, the first half hour talks about shows they watch and smaller movie review as well as news. The 3 hosts are able to joke around with each other and argue without taking it personal.
DLC - One of the hosts, Jeff Canatta (? I'm guessing the spelling), host this show and it's a videogame version of /Filmcast. I don;t have tme to play a lot of videogames, but the show is lively enough and keeps me up to date on the big stuff.
Embedded - On my way back from Florida this week, I started listening to this show. I listened to it last season, but didn't particularly enjoy it. This season has been all Trump and it's been pretty fascinating. It's not about him being the current idiot he is, but rather spends an episode discussing various ways he's been an idiot his whole life.
It is surprisingly neutral and kind of just let's that idiot's idiocy shine through his own stupid statements over the past years or interviews with the people affected by him.
The episode about The Apprentice is truly eye opening about him, his detractors, & his fans. I hated the show, so I never realized how popular it was.
An interesting thing they brought out is that they edited in the "You're Fired" part...At least for one of the contestants.

Still playing Fortnite Battle Royale...it's fantastic, and free to play so I recommend checking it out if your into games at all.
Most likely gonna get the new CoD since it's WW2 and boots on the ground again for the first time in 4 years. Even though I hate Activision and everything they do to squeeze every ounce of money out of their consumers. They'll get my 60 dollars this year.
Still watching a ton of horror movies as per the horror board challenge. Watched Ninth Gate last night. I've grown to love that movie quite a bit. Disliked it a lot the first time I watched.
Not really watching any tv ATM. Plan on seeing Stranger Things 2 just don't know when as I'm busy all weekend.

Playing Fortnite as well. Are we friends? I'm always looking for people for squads. I have 2-3 buddies but they aren't always on at the same time.

I don't think so - I think Baz is the only guy I'm linked with on PS4. (Baz is freaking insane.) I'll shoot you my handle via PM. I'm usually on after 8pm central.

Also a few guys from the video game board...er at least the old one. Haven't frequented this one enough to notice if they came over. I replied. my game time fluctuates but usually when I'm working days I'll be on after 6 pm est and randomly on weekends.

Stranger Things 2 - I gotta admit that I never was on the bandwagon for how awesome Stranger Things was.
I think it survived largely on nostalgia and the skill of the actors - both young and grown. The story overall made little sense or maybe just wasn't interesting enough.
Season 2 is substantially better as it is cohesive. It also doesn't feel as cheap and Max is a good addition even as her brother was not.

I watched a few movies this weekend.
Thor: Ragnarok - First off, I did like this movie. That's why I'm writing about it.
Things I likes
Thor - the lighter tone to his character. I would argue Thor always had comedic elements that combated with the more regal nature of who he was.
Hulk/Thor battle - Lived up to my imagination
Valkyrie whose name I forget - Clearly a love interest since Sif has disappeared from the movie
Hela - Kate Blanchett is awesome, as is often the case, and I wish they sent more time on her
Jeff Goldblum - It's always nice to see him loopy.
Things I dislikes
The Marvel hordes - I truly despise this now. Way too many of their movies requires an army of mindless clones to disintegrate and blow up. Hela is powerful enough to kill a whole army by herself and yet she still needs an army of the undead? A Marvel movie is automatically going to be knocked a full point if I see them. They add nothing to the story.
Story - The story was fairly inconhesive. I must have blocked Avengers 2 & Thor 2 out of my memory because it took me way to long to wonder how Hulk got there or why Odin all of a sudden felt the need to die
Comedy - It was very TV show like humor. I could feel the pacing. There were very few surprises.
Loki - No really necessary. I get the impression Loki exists merely to give Hiddleston a reliable paycheck.
Overall, I liked it, but it did not live up to the praise it's been receiving that now seems to be largely based on how different it is from previous Thors.

It also doesn't feel as cheap and Max is a good addition even as her brother was not. I thought Max and her brother Billy were both solid additions. Actually all the new characters and creatures I put on the positive side of this season. Maury, Bob, Dr. Paul Reiser, Kali, even the Mind Flayer. I dig them all. I think I kind of do prefer the second season to the first. And I didn't think I would. But maybe it's just because with two seasons all recurring characters have more depth whereas in season 1 each character couldn't have been elaborated on as much. So characters like Dustin and Lucas felt like supporting cast in season 1 but in season 2 they had more time to shine and thus became more appreciated.

Played the new CoD...until they get the connection problems sorted out its going to be a disappointment. The game has potential but lag and disconnect from server is apparent in every single game. Far too much. So I'm going back to Fortnite for the time being. Which continues to be tons of fun. I even played with Cine.

Horizon Zero Dawn - I finished this last week and I loved it. This may have the most satisfying battles I've ever experienced.
There's nothing better than having to take down a Thunderjaw (A big T-Rex with missiles guns, & a lot of hit points.) with a bow and arrow.
Can't wait to start on the expansion pack, but I think I need a Mario game from an adventure breather.

I thin Eleven acts better in the second season (My favorite scene, strangely enough, is her fight with the sheriff character.) I think they are setting the brother up to be a better person the next season and I liked him in the finale. They just kept his story too big of a mystery for too long.

La La Land - I love musicals and I've got to add this one to my roster. While the songs are not necessarily memorable, the music certainly is. I like that they focused on jazz. The performance were great and I loved the choreography.
Split - I didn't see the last 3rd of the movie coming although I did see the twist coming. Overall it was very enjoyable movie.

Edge of Tomorrow - TNT is doing some kind of marathon and I love this film. I just watch it over and over again. Better than Groundhog Day. Tom Cruise has been in some of my favorite sci-fi films. Really underappreciated movie. Great sci-fi candy.

So I'm on until 10 pm eastern at the latest usually. This past week I hardly played tho. Work was hell and I picked up CoD so I was playing that some. But like I says I'm gonna be playing more Fortnite for the time being. I also started Shameless tho so that'll eat up some of my tv time.

Arrival - Very solid. To me, it was a Christopher Nolan movie that happened to not be directed by him. It feels deep and complex, but isn;t really. I went from not understanding the movie to almost completely getting it after a few minutes of reflection. If not for Interstellar's ending, it could have pared nicely with it although it was more reminiscent of Inception tone wise.
I like Close Encounters version of this better & Contact felt more methodical despite spending less time on it, but overall I love how movies like this try to explain how important communication is and especially how it mirrored the lack of communication between humans.
Beautiful to look at and the aliens look amazingly strange and like nothing I've seen before.
