Paulette Goddard acquitted herself with grace and aplomb dancing "I Ain't Hep To That Step (But I'll Dig It)" with Astaire in Second Chorus. She strolls, taps, jitterbugs, executes turns and lifts with fluidity and maintains an easy freedom of movement from her head to her feet with every body part fully engaged, betraying no tightness or lack of confidence, bringing to the number the same quality that made Ginger an ideal Astaire partner: spontaneity; she makes it look like they're doing it for the first time, and acts while she dances, so that all the fun they're (supposedly) having shows on the screen.

He starts singing after a 1:14 minute intro " Marvin's recording of the song "Wanderin' Star" went to number one on the U.K. charts, earning him a gold record. " "Jean Seberg (Elizabeth) described Lee Marvin's (Ben Rumson's) singing as "like rain gurgling down a rusty pipe". "
