On the same post I correctly predicted the Nats defeating the Astros 4-3 in the World Series prior to a bat being swung in anger in the 2019 season, I also predicted that the Orioles would win the AL East. I'm truly sorry, and even though I'm Australian and have never seen a baseball game live, never been to Baltimore, nor even seen a real live Oreole, I apologise unreservedly to anybody that took it to heart, least of all Elaine Benis and nutsberryfarm 🏜Whilst I'm apologising, I'm also going to throw one to hoskotafe3 for continually predicting the Dragons will come good and make the finals. I'm wrong, and wont be doing so in 2020, hence glory may return to the Red V sooner rather than later. |

This reminds me of a friend who constantly says dumb shit like "I dont think XYZ will win, but at that price you can not have a bet on them !" If they arent going to win, then its irrelevant what the odds are. May as well be 100/1 ! I struggle to understand humans sometimes......

After he was drafted, I personally guaranteed that Josh Rosen would win a Super Bowl in his career. I didn’t specify which team he’d do it for, but I’m starting to admit it’s looking somewhat less likely now.

Not just a game - but the entire season and makeup of a team Pretty much predicting a team is going to be in the upper echelon of the league - when they're at the bottom.

If someone had told me ten years ago that Forest Green Rovers would be in League 2, knocking on the door of League 1, I would have laughed at you... but here we are. If you had told most football fans a few years ago that Leicester would win the EPL, they would have thought you were nuts... but they did win it. Weird stuff happens in sport. |

It's OK to be wrong. I entered this week's IMBb NFL pool with a 79-42 record so I've been wrong almost 35%. But I own up to my mistakes and I'm not afraid to make bold predictions and big upsets, like Week 3 last season when I was the only player in the pool to pick Detroit to upset New England (which was a wise pick because I figured Matt Patricia would have inside knowledge about how to prepare for New England similar to how Jon Gruden had inside knowledge about how to prepare for Oakland in the Super Bowl and I was right). As I've said before, I've been a Cowboys fans since the 1970s. But I live in San Francisco so most of my co-workers are 49ers fans. In the early 1990s, the Cowboys and 49ers were the 2 best teams in the NFL and played in 3 straight NFC Championship Games. When the Cowboys lost the 1994 NFC Championship Game to the 49ers, I showed up for work the next day and took all the trash-talking from the 49ers fans. A year later, when the defending Super Bowl champion 49ers hosted NFL MVP Brett Favre and the Packers in the divisional playoffs, I predicted that Favre and the Packers would upset the 49ers and I was right. The next day, there were a few 49ers fans who didn't show up for work because they were cowards. There's another coward on these boards: poutinep , a stupid douchebag Pats fan who is too chicken-shit to play in the pool but always likes to talk trash about me for an incorrect pick, even though my 79-42 record was 6th place and 2 games behind the lead entering this week. And of course, like most stupid douchebag Pats fans, poutinep runs away and hides and never shows up whenever the Pats get their asses kicked like they did by the Ravens last night. |

Before the 2014 World Cup semi-finals some poster on the old IMDb Sports board wrote that Germany was going to humiliate Brazil. I replied "don't be ridiculous, Germany had a hard time beating Algeria, not a chance they will humiliate Brazil". As anyone who follows FOOTball knows, that is exactly what they did - a 7-1 thumping that will still be remembered a hundred years from now.
I never felt the need to apologise for it though.
