Okay, I think this is getting comical. .
He literally thinks MCU is ruining cinema.
Slams them, says they dont take risk
MCU fans, what are your thoughts on his new latest attacks on the MCU. This is like the 5th time he has trashed marvel in less than a mount.

The funniest thing about this is how many DC fans think of him as being "on their side."
Those silly bastards, lol.

Also admits to never having watched a single movie properly, apparently hasn't watched any of the best rated ones, claims that all the Marvel films are "sequels in name only" that they are "essentially remakes" of past films, yet doesn't say anything to say the Jaws movies, Terminator films, Star Wars movies, DCEU films, X-Men movies, Spider-Man films, and so on, so he's again making blanket statements over films he admits he has never watched and doesn't known anything about whilst turning a blind eye to say Terminator which every film except Salvation is essentially the same movie as the first, and T3, T5 & T6 are all pretty much identical rip off's of T2 which atleast expanded and diverged on the original movie going from Sci-Fi horror to a Sci-fi action movie.
Also Scorsese's claim that Marvel is "ruining" cinema, is actually that they are "ruining" his idea of cinema, because you know it has to be Marvel not the fact that every studio now pumps out a dozen blockbusters a year, that the cinema experience is not worth the effort these days due to the expense of it, limited benefits of it, and exponentially more options for top tier entertainment than say Marty had in the 1950's when trying to flip a small ball connected by a string into a cup was the height of daily entertainment.
Scorsese even says his opinions is based on his old age, that his view of cinema was formed in his youth which again is going back to the 50's, but that had he come of age in more modern times he would probably love these movies, they simply are not his cup of tea.
I mean seriously Summer's read the fucking articles first you illiterate glob of cock juice.

The most comical thing is that you never read the original article the reports you link is about, just nitpicked summaries. Did your links feature this? Even funnier is that how you interpret Scorsese's comments make you think he's "on your side" and have shared values. You criticise MCU films for not being "art" and seem to think that as they were not mentioned your beloved X-Men and DC films are art and supported by Scorsese. Ever think he doesn't mention them because they are to him insignificant ? They were not the franchises he was specifically asked about? Or like the MCU, he hasn't actually seen the films. I'd be interested to know how many of these you have seen and how they compare to the CBMs you love. I mean you know what is art and what isn't...you must be aware of these films. A massive cienphile liike yourself who seems to share the same views and ideals as Scorsese. For the same reasons above I assume you actively seek out all the films of these directors and love them? And if you actually bothered to read the actual original article you'd see he ends up criticising major Hollywood blockbusters as a whole, not just MCU films. Films he has not actually see. There was little doubt you were summers8 before - sentence construction, content and views. But it is now a certainty - posting cherrypicked reports and actually not understanding the content within articles. Remember the Happy Days Lunchbox? You are entering that level of dumb mis-interpretation again.

I actually agree with him in regards to blockbusters taking over. Obviously I can only speak from my experience but my local theater isn't big and because of that there's only so few screenings for the film's that aren't big budget films pushed by the big studios.
So yeah it does suck that blockbuster films have taken over the industry.

No, by starting another thread where you have completely misread, or not even bothered to read the original article, you made it about you I tell you what, I will for about the 15th time since seeing it on it's initial release, if you can name a film by Kenneth Anger or Jean-Luc Godard. Should be easy for such a big fan of "art"

Without the MCU, theatres may already be dead. That is because of the incompetence of the studios, not because people wouldn't watch movies. Why should ticket prices be $50 when digital cinema is cheap? It's corrupt business practices and unimaginative decisions by the studios that is to blame. In the old days people might walk by a theater and look at a poster and go inside based on that. Now, with tv, people may stay at home but I think it's exaggerated. There may be some technological drift due to home theaters or people watching movies on cell phones but it is mostly due to decisions by the studios. If people didn't want to go to cinemas-why are there revival theaters?
There's a drive-in that gets new 35mm prints of movies from the 60s and 70s so there is still interest in the out of home cinema experience.

Also, I don't think ticket prices cost THAT much. At least, I know that it doesn't in my area.
