Your right. it's just more liberal BS that no sane person takes all that seriously to sum it up.
that whole 'toxic masculinity' claim is just people whining because there are not enough females winning the awards is all. but it's just the way things played out. but yet they got to complain about it claiming more females should be in there just because they are females, regardless if any female deserves it or not.
that's why a lot of those general Oscars types of shows lost a lot of credibility as it's largely politics than legitimate wins when it comes to awards, especially lately. like that BS with #OscarsSoWhite which is basically telling those awards shows to give them Oscars just because they are a minority, regardless if they legitimately won, and the sad thing is they do it which in turn makes the awards worth less because they where told to give them a award more than it being a legitimate win straight up playing out naturally like things used to in the not too distant past.
because putting politics aside, whether your for or against the whole minority getting awards thing etc, I tend to see it as simple math in which if you got generally white people appearing in most of the good movies, it naturally follows they are most likely to win the awards a high percentage of the time. because take a example where black guys will generally dominate white guys... take the NBA MVP award for example, black guys tend to win that a high percentage of the time and that will continue to happen because when you look at the NBA as a whole it's largely dominated by black guys and it would be like me complaining not enough white people win and then when a white person did win it would dull the award because people were telling them to give them the award more than it playing out naturally straight up which is why I DO NOT complain about it. so this way when say a white guy does win, it will be more legitimate instead of politics like is with Oscars etc.
p.s. hell, just in my opinion... quality movies in general are more dominated by males as that's usually the case when I start looking at my favorite movies as a guy myself. maybe someone else feels differently, but I would have to imagine I speak for most guys since guys tend to like more guy oriented shows which typically involve males running the show. not always, but seems to be mostly (if not largely) the case.

I think women would only be satisfied if females make up the nominees in best actor, supporting actor and all for director of course. It's just too hard to keep up with those pesky toxic males who perhaps just tend to have more interest in film-making, or make films that have broader appeal to both genders in this day and age.
Don't you realize they're going to release a homicidal maniac.
