Yeah, isn't that ridiculous? 800 coupons, points, blah blah blah blah. What a waste of paper! I don't like that at all. Then again, I am not particularly fond of CVS pharmacies in general. But my prescription plan has them as the preferred pharmacy, and I get a steep discount for using them. I prefer Walgreens if I have to go to a chain.

I've gotten receipts almost as long as I am tall there when just buying one or two items. And if you are registered with them, you can an annoying email EVERY time you buy something asking about your experience.

Er, I don't know who does the shopping in your household, but it pretty obviously isn't you if you think this. I do the shopping. You're just spewing out troll misinformation. Ah, no. I just shopped at CVS day before yesterday for flu meds. Made the mistake of using the SO's store card. Got a receipt not quite 4 feet long, but still plenty of waste paper. Shopped at Food Lion yesterday, same story. A handful of unnecessary coupons at the register. Are you flakking for these companies or something? Just curious. Of course, your tossing out the word troll means we shouldn't take you very seriously anyway.

Presumably everyone else on this thread is a troll as well then, since they're describing the same experience. Maybe you should report it to the Admin . Or better yet, sue Vox, who published a story on this: www.vox.com/the-goods/2018/10/10/17956950/why-are-cvs-pharmacy-receipts-so-longI guess they just made up 'everytinhf' in that article to piss you off. Stop posting while drunk, 'kay?

just asl for an email receipt. It's not that hard. In most countries, this would mean you two are engaged.

just asl for an email receipt. It's not that hard. And you'll still get the register receipt at most of their stores.

I have a cvs card and all of my receipts go straight to email. Not all CVS stores offer the option of email only as of yet, although it was implemented in 2016. Also, it's not offered as an option at checkout: you have to ask a cashier to set you up. Not all customers are aware of this by any means, and the chain doesn't aggressively push the format. You can sign up for an app if you use a mobile phone. As I have no need for one, that's not an option--and I'd hardly rush out to get one just so I could avail myself of this. And at any rate, none of that alters the fact that a number of other stores who use loyalty cards still generate a lot of waste paper at the checkout.

CVS would prefer to give them by email and its no cost to CVS to give them by email, and no reason its only at one store. she's pulling shit outta her ass for trolling purposes.

I don't know WTF your problem is--I've been polite and reasonable to you in my responses up to this point--but I'm getting sick of the 'trolling' accusation. Your latest post has been reported for that, and you're now on block. You're not worth the time. Your avatar should read 'juvenile member' rather than 'junior member'--junior.

Well, that it's not true... You can add me to YOUR side of the argument, because I get those incredibly long receipts at checkout too! And One More Thing, this "Grandpa" would also like to say to the "Grandson" of this discussion... Go fuck your lollipops, bigot!

And One More Thing, this "Grandpa" would also like to say to the "Grandson" of this discussion... Go fuck your lollipops, bigot! LOL, I knew I was dealing with an adenoidal millenial when his first response to me (stealth response, btw---he didn't quote my post) included the word 'granpa'. Showing himself to be both an age bigot and too ADD to notice that I'm female. None too surprising. I love their mentality (and I realize I'm generalizing wildly here, so apologies to any millenial reading this who doesn't think this way) with regard to the notion that anyone who's over 45 and hasn't voluntarily and eagerly enslaved themselves to every piece of pop technogarbage on the market is a fossil who's hopelessly cyber-illiterate and should be shipped off to a re-education camp for proper indoctrination, or else just put out of their fossilized misery. On my last job, I spent nine to ten hours a day in front of a computer. I'm quite proficient and literate with the damn things, but I just don't choose to have them impose any more presence on my life than I can reasonably avoid. I use a flip phone--I see no need to have a PC/home theater system/home office/photography lab/what-have-you other appendages to the power of etcetera to about x ten thousand on my person 24/7. I don't want to spend my time at the theater or in a restaurant, the park, library or anywhere else texting. You could not give me a Kindle. (I actually had a teen toddler berate me in a Starbuck's a few years back for having the temerity to be reading--gasp!--a physical book within the range of his vision! I was helping to 'destroy the environment' according to his reasoning, and should be getting my read on only in e-form. Unbelievable.) I avail myself of such technology out there as I feel is useful or enjoyable to me, and no more. The stuff is being marketed these days in a way that comes across as suspiciously addictive in some respects. "You can't live without insert-device-of-the-nanosecond-here kids!!! You're friends will turn on you en masse and rip you to bleeding shreds for your uncoolness if you don't possess this NOW!!! "It's the tiresome assumption of superiority that kills me. I must be getting a bit more crochety with age, because these days I have less compunction about putting out my paw like Mama Bear, and giving a particularly pesky cub a good metaphorical box on the ear. Sorry for the lengthy rant--I appreciate your post! This thread alone should have taught Junior that a lot of people are still receiving paper, and that those 'e-receipts' are not as ubiquitous as he thinks. But I suppose he'd have to pull his eyes away from whatever game app he's immersed in to see what's in front of his face. His constant mis-spellings, likely due to too much 'textspeak' (Orwell would have relished that word), give a clue to at least one thing he likely spends too much time doing.
