I'm not sure there truly is an actual greatest, but my personal favorite is Colorful from 2010. It's actually my favorite movie period. While I can see why you like it so much, for me personally the visuals could have been a little less typical which would have bumped it up from an 8 to a 10. What did you think of Keiichi Hara's other films? I don't know you could ever know why I love Colorful so much given how personal the film is for me but whatever. The only other film I've seen from Keiichi Hra was Miss Hokisai which I found simply ok. I'll update you should I see anything else.

I suppose that may be. I guess some films just strike a chord and nobody else experiences them the same way. Outside of the Crayon Shin Chan and Doraemon franchises he's directed Summer Days with Coo and the upcoming Birthday Wonderland. I thought that Miss Hokusai had some good elements but didn't feel incredibly cohesive as a movie.

My only complaint is I feel it's length and pacing would have lent itself to being a series more than a stand alone film. Even as is though, it was quite enjoyable.

One of my favorites:
For anyone interested, there's a delicious connection between this film and Requiem for a Dream. You'll know them when you see them. Darren Aronofsky bought the rights to this film to make it happen.

Even as is though, it was quite enjoyable.t I had only seen the first part but got around to watching the whole thing today after discovering that The Addams Family animated film still hadn't been made available for rent. I thought it was quite good. It had a very interesting story and didn't bore me like it did the first time I saw it. The second half I thought was more interesting than the first. The animation quality was by biggest deal with the film because it had an especially low frame rate sometimes and the designs were notably inconsistent even for anime towards the end of the film.

I am generally not a fan of animated movies (and the like) as the only animated thing I have seen of any real worth is... Death Note (2006-2007)p.s. I have seen that three times in it's entirety so far (i.e. about when it was new/Feb 2012/June-Aug 2016) but each time my interest in it declined (i.e. 9/10 to a 7.5-8/10 to it's current 6.5-7/10). I am hoping it does not decline further when I get around to seeing it again which I suspect I will see it either before this year is finished or no later than next year.

Didn't " FROZEN 2" just become the Highest Grossing Animated Movie of All Time ? Unless you count the Lion King remake which was intended to be “live-action”, then yeah.
