I bought a gallon of this yesterday. You can probably guess what I did today. Is this the kind that needs to be reapplied every few years to maintain its efficiency? Or is this the kind that you only have to apply it once for life? I was previously using "Woodscapes" by Sherwin Williams. That lasted long enough that when I went back to their store this year, I was informed that the product had been discontinued. "SuperDeck" is the replacement product, and this is the first time I've used it, so I don't know if it's better or worse than "Woodscapes". I suspect that any stain applied to wood is going to need periodic reapplication. Some years back I had the wooden floor boards of the deck replaced with Trex - now that stuff never needs to be stained. But my handrails, steps, posts and stiles are still wood, and need to be stained every few years.

autumn i hope you get the staining done with good weather. I cannot believe how long repairs/construction takes. good luck!! One reason it's taking longer is that the railing design had to be altered, the panels were out of stock for several days, but alas, we've also been hit with rain for day after day after day. Not straight through, but on and off, on and off, so the workmen can't be on for anything without any clear weather in sight. Today as well -- rain. But even now, most of the parts are in except those new railings, so we're almost done. Then comes the staining. Yay!

Every step feels so great

I've been using SuperDeck on my exterior, weather-exposed deck boards for a number of years now and, yes, you will need to do periodic over-coats. I live in the Seattle area which sees lots of rain, and I end up reapplying a coat about every 3 years, or at least doing touch-ups in spots that need it. Make sure you lightly pressure wash the intended area and let it thoroughly dry before over-coating.

This title has been out of print for Region 1 since 1998. I've been checking Amazon.com on and off for years and discovered that it was finally re-released in July 2020. Not only did I buy the DVD, I started a quote thread for the movie.
