Not usually. I'll say something like, "Hey, John" or "Hey, what's up?"

No. I usually say "what's up?'' or the persons name like "John Smith. What's going on?" If I don't recognize the caller I NEVER answer

Yes, of course. I'm not an animal.

I don't answer numbers I don't recognize. But that's true with my landline as well. When I answer the cell I say something like 'Hi, is everything okay?' because anyone who knows me knows I hate to get calls on my cell and I'd rather they call my landline.

No. I wait for the other person to speak.

Acutally I always say "Yes, hello" but if I have to repeat I just say "hello".

I answer with “hello” if its someone I dont know or dont know well and “hi” to friends.
While a lot of the calls from numbers I dont recognize are bots/scams I cant really not answer because occassionally its people who have a valid reason to call me and I really want to talk to them too, I just didnt know their number...

Yes but I often have trouble saying “goodbye” due to how my stammer works. This can be very annoying at times.

I prefer a more traditional approach:

Say a family member or a friend has an emergency situation, and they call you from a different phone. Say they were in an accident and they have to borrow a stranger's phone, so leaving a message would be pointless. Miss Thaaang, just answer the damn phone!

If it's my cell you're talking about it probably wouldn't even be on. I could go a week or more before bothering to turn it on.

I often don’t answer the landline because nine out of ten times that will be a nuisance call but I usually answer the mobile phone. My daughter isn’t good at charging her phone so if I don’t recognise a number it’s often her on a friend’s phone.

If they want to get in touch and I don't answer, they'll leave a voice mail. Can I ask why the precaution? It's not gonna hurt to answer it. I rarely answer the 1-800 et al numbers. But if I don't recognize it as a telemarketer number, I answer it. Why not? If a telemarketer sneaks through I know how to shut them down in 10 seconds.
