Even if I ignore THE LAKE HOUSE's time travel paradoxes, there are still plot holes and contrivances. In order for the protagonists to have something to do while they’re not talking to each other, they’re given boring and expendable subplots. That being said, it has elements that SIWORAE didn’t have: Good performances (surprisingly including Keanu Reeves), great chemistry between the leads and characters that are actually interesting. I looked for SIWORAE a few years ago since I was interested in seeing the orignal but couldn't find it. Seems like it's not such an easy find...
