With Cubs winning the WS this decade, we may get the 11th inning.

I thought he should have fit in something about the Minors. They were s important to their fans as the majors. On a same level, of course not. But a baseball fan in Houston. Kansas City or the west coast was never going to see a big leaguer before WWII except in newsreels. A kid in San Francisco probably knew and cared more about the Seals than the Yankees of Cardinals. Nearly ever cit ythat was more than a dusty intersection had a minor league team. At one time there were nearly 500.

When it first came out I absolutely loved it.
Over time I've grown angry that you have a history of baseball and there's no Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Tom Seaver, Bob Gibson but a ton of Doloris Kearns and Jay what's his name? Plus there were a lot of errors apparently made and some say on purpose.

It would have been better if it didn't morph into the history of the Red Sox. Not to mention it doesn't even mention the Phillies first World Series win in 1980. And IMO it spent way too much time focusing on the racial segregation of it. Yes, it's important to point it out but not 50% of the focus. Truth be told Burns should have done a separate documentary on the Negro Leagues.

Whenever anyone thinks the NFL matters more to pro sports legacy, that early Fenway flyover shot erases everything, with the historic audio overlay.
I think the series should continue in perpetuity every 10-15yrs.

I can't watch his stuff. I hate the slow zooms and celebrity voices.

Sounds boring. Why would somebody burn a perfectly good baseball, and who would want to watch?

Blacks were barred from the major leagues and it was wrong. Can we move on to the history of this great game". Him focusing on the Red Sox 75% of the time was silly too.

He was born in the same hometown as my wife. Look at a team picture of any team he was on. He was a big, big man. His height was listed as 6'1" but I think they short changed him. He also was one of the first pitcher to throw serious gas regularly. He was Randy Johnson the First. I also don't believe 1/100th of the stories about him. Eccentric, no doubt. But running off the mound to chase a fire truck, no. Now teams would have helped him with his drinking and his attitude. Back in the day, they just laughed.
