In the short term I say forget the Fantastic Four. The last few attempts were so poorly received any new one would be a really difficult sell, no matter how good it is. But a Doctor Doom movie chronicling Victor von Doom's rise to power? That has potential...

I think if they do like he says and go high adventure and advertise it that way, things could change for them. Something like a Johnny Quest or Indiana Jones in space. All the previous movies did the opposite of this. They all had a problem to solve and solved them in a lab. I don't know why they keep going "How [these characters] would be in the real world" when no one asked for that with any of the comics to live action. The Tim Story movies tried with the family side, but both did dysfunctional family that comes together in the end. That was more romantic comedy than super hero movie.

Though at least the Tim Story films had Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis. The newest one had NO ONE.

This isn't exactly the right board for this.

This isn't exactly the right board for this. Fox was wanting to put them in the same universe as the X-Men at the time.

I personally don't think there is anything anybody can do to make me want to see a Fantastic Four film again. I would like for the rights to go back to Marvel/Disney ONLY for the fact they'd get Dr Doom. But with the actual Fantastic Four? I just don't care anymore. I remember liking Evans in the first one and then the second one happened which was dumb. I then REFUSED to watch the stupidness of Fan4stick. Have it be like Ghost Rider...have the movies die. Hell have them show up on Agents of Shield when/if Marvel gets the rights back. I don't watch that show anyways so have at it.

If they filmed Jeremy Slater's script and made it a two part origin story or something, I'd see that. Apparently it would have cost $300M or something like that.

There already been a good Fantastic Four film. Two actually. They came out in 2005 and 2007.

Fox was wanting to put them in the same universe as the X-Men at the time. Meh, same studio. Close enough. Fox doesn't own the FF rights, Constantin Film does. Fox just distributes them. It seems likely that Constantin and Fox don't get to combine the characters on-screen.
