thats ok I watched it once in ‘82 so I kinda knew I’d bomb on it
WHOA Jay !!
That's certainly been a long spell
since you have watched
a memorable classic like this .
Did you enjoy it back then or was it not your cup of tea
so to speak ? at that point I was used to the new horror movies which had more gore and were in color so I don’t think I was all that impressed at the time. But tastes change from when you were a kid. We all watched it as a family and I think it may have been my mother’s idea. I’ll have to ask her about that

I actually discovered this film
( and like most of AH's films )
on one of the TV local channels
as a teenager .
Even then I was mostly hooked on the classic films
but still would watch the other " modern horror flicks "
of the times on VHS rentals in between .
I never really saw any horror films on the big screen
until I was in my 20's .
So was your parents hooked on horror films
like my parents were ?

Only got 5/10. Haven't seen this in about 20 years at least, so I'm satisfied. I knew 4 of them. The day of the week was an important part of the plot, the drink with sandwiches I remember, the price of the motel was the usual amount for the era and I kind of remember it. I was pretty sure what task Norman was performing at the one instance. As for the color, I took an educated guess. Missed all the others.

like my parents were ? I haven't seen too many horror movies on the big screen at that time either ms z. I think Friday the 13th part 3 and I remember seeing Creepshow and a couple of other things that escape my memory right now. But if I recall, this movie was something that my mother looked back fondly on because she was a teenager at the time and I think it scared the heck out of her and she wanted to revisit it. But overall my parents were never horror movie fans except maybe some others in the 60's, but certainly nothing more modern.
