Jim Carrey the highest grossing movie of the year. What were we thinking?

I liked it. Say what you will, still way better than that awful live action "Cat in the Hat" film

It wasn't that bad.
I've seen much worse holiday movies.

We've had worse movies be at the top of the box office before and/or since.

Can someone explain to me why Ron Howard had so many tilted angles in this movie? It adds nothing but makes it feel even more weird.

I think Point Break 2015 is an uglier looking film.

Hey don't blame me, I've avoided it like a plague even til this day haha.
But I was not surprised it did so well in the US at the box office. Think about it for a second. Jim Carrey was a HUGE draw back then and it centered around a very popular Dr Seuss character and story. Add in that Ron Howard directed it too and I wasn't surprised that it made so much coin (despite how apparently awful it was lol)

Crap movie, and I'm thankful the cartoon still exists to flense the memory of it from the collective consciousness every Christmas.

Why does everyone seem to hate this movie? Yes Jim Carrey overdoes it and doesen’t seem to be playing the Grinch, but himself in a grinch costume. And lest we forget we had a animated Grinch movie last year that was worse.
I honestly love this movie and the hate for it just seems ridiculous.

Such an ugly looking movie I like it fine but you’re right. The palette is strangely dark and for lack of a better word, foggy? It’s not at all what I remembered the first time I saw it.

It wasn't what I would call a good movie. I do think the acting was good, but "acting" isn't all that important to me, compared to characters, story, and other attributes. I give it 4/10. Just not enthused by it. Dull for a comedy. You can tell they really struggle and give the effort, but the problem was the entire drawing board for this movie.

So we’re just gonna forget that the one last year didn’t happen? Anyone...just me?
And don’t bring up how it’s animated like that automatically makes it better. It was pretty bad.
