So we’re just gonna forget that the one last year didn’t happen? Anyone...just me? And don’t bring up how it’s animated like that automatically makes it better. It was pretty bad. Yes, I think we would all like to forget whatever version came out last year. Also, the Jim Carrey version was cinematic diarrhea. But somehow even cornier.

I don’t know what the hell Cumberbatch was supposed to be doing. People weren’t even afraid of the grinch in last year’s remake. Weren’t The Who’s supposed to be afraid of him? Seriously why are you guys giving the Carrey one so much crap? 2018’s Grinch was much worse!!!

No one's saying you can't enjoy the Jim Carrey version. You do you!

I just find that the Carrey version is miles better than the one that came out last year.

I've become pretty tone deaf to movies over time but I enjoyed The Grinch more than I expected. I didn't have high expectations. The character designs are lazy and smoothed out, the plot is rather simple and the voices aren't all that distinctive but I enjoyed it more than I expected. It's a definite two or three steps up from The Lorax. What I like about the movie is how it explores the Grinch tries to recruit real reindeer and come up with a more cohesive plan to take away all the presents. Also, I like the design of the town and all. There are a few other things that I like about it but I don't want to give plot spoilers.
