24 to 6 according to the article I linked to. Do you not remember the game last year? No. I didn't watch it. I looked up 2017-18 college football playoffs. I thought Clemson was the national champion. I even linked to the article that came up. Fuck'in Google. ------------- Regardless, Clemson is being rewarded for playing nobody. And Alabama's being punished for losing to the #1 ranked team. Doesn't seem fair.

But Alabama was ranked what when they lost to LSU, 2? Which makes them roughly equal. Any team in the top 4 or 5 are close enough in terms of quality. So then yes, if the #2 team loses to the #1 team, they should be punished in the standings.

I'm the one who was trying to convince you the other day that there should be a 24 team playoff, as there is at the FCS level. There's no reasonable argument against it. Hell, there would finally be a purpose to being in the 'top 25.'

As a LSU fan, we always cry it's not fair Alabama gets rewarded for blowing out cupcakes. Well, Clemson is not even blowing out the cupcakes on their schedule. Alabama lost by 5 points to the #1 team in the country. Alabama would be undefeated if they played Clemson's schedule. With probably more blowouts. Once again, the team with the easier schedule is being rewarded for playing nobody. And the team with the harder schedule is being punished for playing the harder schedule.

My comment isn’t necessarily saying Clemson should be rewarded, I’m saying Alabama should feel the consequences of a loss, even to the number 1 team in the country.

Alabama should be behind LSU. But I think it is clear Alabama should be #3 and Clemson should be #5. It is fair to assume if you play nobody every year, blow them all out, you are guarranteed a playoff spot. Whereas, if you play a hard schedule, with ranked teams, you better go undefeated. Otherwise the team that goes undefeated --- playing nobody --- will jump you in the rankings.

Can’t link it from my phone but there’s a website called southernpigskin.com by somebody named Matt Smith that ranks the strength of schedules of power 5 teams. For what it’s worth he has Alabama at 56 and Clemson at 59 (South Carolina is 1) so again, it’s not that vastly different. The two schools are roughly equal with similar strengths of schedule, so yes, undefeated Clemson should be ranked ahead of 1-loss Alabama.

It is hard to beat a good team twice. But most people would agree, if Alabama played Clemson's schedule, they would be undefeated also. And still in the playoffs. They are being punished for having the harder schedule.

I just showed you and provided a link showing you that Clemson’s and Alabama’s SOS are virtually identical.

Alabama lost to the #1 ranked team. And they still have to play #16 Auburn. How are those schedules similar in difficulty? No I don't agree with your stupid link.
