How bizarre. Despicable as Celine's philosophies were, I still feel he retains his stature as a writer whom it's vitally important to be acquainted with. Incredible that his widow lived on to such an age--what must her life have been like living with a personality as strange as his, and to live on into a Europe that's, at its best, hoped to make itself an antithesis of everything he (and presumably she) believed in?
