Has anyone else noticed that now they seem to ONLY be doing movies and characters based on real life incidents and portrayals of real life figures? They even teamed up for Sully.
What is up with that? Why are they not doing 100% fiction anymore?

Eastwood is kind of old to portray the new stranger in town.

He could play a cowboy doll as reference to his old western days, even have a showdown between him and Woody with "Good, the bad, and the Ugly" theme playing.

They have to power in Hollywood buy up or become attached to stories that interest them. Right now, it's movies based on reality.

Tom Hanks have played in 79 movies and he has played real life people in what 9 or 10 of them, so yes he clearly only play real life people in movies, If you ignore the 69 or 70 movies where he did not do that.

Eastwood is kind of old to portray the new stranger in town. Yeah, According to WIKIPEDIA (which I know is not always reliable) Clint Eastwood is actually 89 years old right now.

Now I’m left wondering what their next collaboration would look like?

What is up with that? Why are they not doing 100% fiction anymore? I don't think that it's a bad thing at all that they are both doing films like that.
I mean they both have every right in the world to do the films and roles that they want to do and if those are the types of films and roles that they do want to do then good for them.

I'd at any rate prefer it if Hanks stuck to portraying real-life characters whom he at least vaguely resembles. Sully wasn't bad, but no amount of makeup, prostheses or acting technique could convince me he was Walt Disney or Fred Rogers.

Now I’m left wondering what their next collaboration would look like? Tom Hanks plays.... a younger Clint Eastwood. While Clint Eastwood plays.... an older Tom Hanks. Directed by Tom Eastwood. In a Clint Hanks production.

I'm not complaining. Just pointing it out. I'm not really much of a fan of either one. At least not to where I wanna go see it in the theatre. Last two CE movies I watched was The Mule, the excellent and underrated Honky Tonk Man and Dirty Harry. I can't remember the last Hanks one.

TBH I find his voice annoying which is another reason why I'll stick with the original Rogers.
