I know many people hate Tusk, but to me it's a twisted, hilarious and terrifying absurdity.

I voted for Whiplash, but I thought Boyhood was the best movie of 2014. Nightcrawler and The Imitation Game were really good too.
I'm surprised you didn't list Nightcrawler. That seems liked your kind of movie.

That seems liked your kind of movie. Boyhood didn't do much for me. I just found it bland and uninteresting and really didn't give a crap about any of the characters. Nightcrawler is interesting and well made but left me a bit indifferent and The Imitation Game has a good story but generic execution (imo of course). |

Winter Sleep - not seen 2. Boyhood - didn't do much for me 3. Birdman 4. The Grand Budapest Hotel 5. Two Days, One Night - This one is good 6. Testament of Youth - not seen 7. Mr. Turner - visually stunning and carried by a good central performance but the writing should have been better. 8. Too Many Cooks (short) - I don't watch shorts 9. '71 - I found this a big generic 10. Pride - I didn't really like the comedy in this one. I appreciate your list though |
