Last year I got some clothes at True Religion. They're expensive as fuck so that half-off makes a difference.

BLACK FRIDAY!!!!
Back when I could cross the border with just basic ID, I used to go over to the States to do some shopping on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Even on that day, stores were absolutely busy.
Black Friday has kind of lost its lustre over the past few years with Cyber Monday and some stores opening on Thursday at 6:00pm (Thanksgiving Day).
I used to make the joke on another board while making a toast to my American friends:
Now....who's ready to get up at 2:00am on Friday morning for Black Friday shopping? Yeah....I respectfully decline.
To answer the question:
I haven't in the States. However, I have when the idea spread over to Canada. My father and I went to the closest Walmart. We both got a sweet deal on a couple of TVs - among other things.

I already bought for myself online a few things in my shopping cart that dropped in price this week. I do not plan to drive out to the mall this Friday.

You have to be insane to go out shopping on black Friday. This day brings out the worst in people.

I had to run to Walmart for a couple of things today and they were packing the aisles with boxes of crap for their event tomorrow. Most people, me included, think it's shitty for people to have to work on Thanksgiving(unless you're a 1st responder then you're essential) but people blame the store. Believe me, if people didn't shop the store wouldn't be open. But really, is it so hard to be closed 2 days a year? I mean Chick-Fil-A and Hobby Lobby are closed every Sunday and they still make money hand over fist. Anyhoo, if you think stores being open on Thanksgiving is shitty but you're one who shops then you're the problem.

"These matches are sanctioned by the NWA, the National Wrestling Alliance. Wherever you see that banner, you know you're seeing the finest in professional wrestling." OT: I to this day can recite, verbatim, the opening to All Star Wrestling/Championship Wrestling from the Saturday afternoons of my youth back when it was nothing but interviews and squash matches: "Ladies & gentlemen, welcome to another action packed card of All Star Wrestling promoted by Phil Zatdko!"<mixture of cheers and boos> "These matches are sanctioned and supervised by the state athletic commission, JJ Benz, chairman. The doctor in attendance at ringside, Dr. George Zaharian. The timekeeper at the bell, Charlie Daniel. Your referees for this hour of wrestling, Dick Woehrle, Dick Krohl, Dusty Felbomber, Gilberto Roman, and my name is Garry Michael Capeta!"<Boos> or "And my name is Joooeeee McHugh".

Nice guy. Boy did they have some terrible referees at that time!

Nope. Even when I was a much more enthusiastic shopper than I am now, I didn't get involved in that craziness.

I've no real interest in the whole charade. We don't even have Thanksgiving where I live and yet it's still nothing but Black Friday ads on the TV and in the papers.
