You'd think so. Looks like the lazy hope-for-the-best option, instead of really getting out of your boardrooms and actually physically moving your arses and scouting around to unearth a better talent. I reckon with a third of the season gone and both sides already having allowed the rot to get deep with little hope on the horizon they feel they have little option but the 'quick fix'.
Moyes' last three jobs.
Sociedad win rate 28.57% 42 games
Sunderland win rate 18.6% 43 games
West Ham win rate 29% 31 games
Previously Man U 52.94 % Everton 42.08% Preston 48.29% His percentage is more or less decreasing the further he goes.
Pellegrini current win rate 37.9% In all his previous jobs his win % is higher than at WHU. All those jobs were abroad, except Man City, where he achieved 59.9% but look what he was surrounded by. Silva current win rate 41.4% - this guy works better abroad too - Estoril 46.6%, Sporting 58.5%, Olympiakos 79.2%
'Pushing' is about right, I'd say. But I can't see Moyes returning to either side (not for lack of his wanting to)

Indeed. Only Ferguson, Mourinho and, I think but not totally sure, Walter Crickmer from the 1930s in his second spell as boss, have a higher rate of wins than Moyes. Matt Busby's first spell returned 50.02% from 1100+ games and 50% in his second spell over 22 games.
