Supremely satisfying sequel that surpasses an already great film. The combination of horror, sci-fi, and action culminates in a final act that never lets up and is downright brilliant.  |

It is one of the few movies where it is better than the first one.
The first one is a bore fest.
Aliens does a better job with the pacing to keep it exciting.

It's a great movie. I wouldn't say it surpasses the original though. It's a different expierence. It's more that the original and the sequel are on even ground.

Great action movie, as white-knuckled as the original in terms of suspense. I prefer the horror aspect of the original just a little more though.

Aliens is even better than the first (although both are two of my favorite films).Personally, I believe Alien Covenant is gonna be amazing. It's gonna be Ridley Scott's Terminator 2.

Is this a follow up to Prometheus? The only way they can get back on track is to ignore that one, have it be a stand alone sci-fi adventure on it's own that has nothing at all to do with the Alien franchise, and somehow start all over again if they want to give us a real believable Alien prequel or whatever. Prom. was a big letdown after expecting it to be a straightforward prequel. No one gets that clusterfuck. |

That being said, there will be a few elements that will reference Prometheus. David from Prometheus plays a huge role in Covenant which is fine with me because that guy knows how to act. He actually has two roles, he's also playing a android named Walter. Mr. Scott is going back to the horror roots and HR Giger's gorgeous designs. From test screening reactions, press screenings and leaks I'm positive that it's gonna be a great film. |
