The first one is a bore fest. The first one is a masterpiece, IMO. I can see your point, Aliens is far more entertaining. They are totally different movies, can´t be compared, and I love both.

Is this a follow up to Prometheus? The only way they can get back on track is to ignore that one, have it be a stand alone sci-fi adventure on it's own that has nothing at all to do with the Alien franchise, and somehow start all over again if they want to give us a real believable Alien prequel or whatever. Prom. was a big letdown after expecting it to be a straightforward prequel. No one gets that clusterfuck. It's not a follow up to Prometheus, but is instead a prequel to "Alien". That being said, there will be a few elements that will reference Prometheus. David from Prometheus plays a huge role in Covenant which is fine with me because that guy knows how to act. He actually has two roles, he's also playing a android named Walter. Mr. Scott is going back to the horror roots and HR Giger's gorgeous designs. From test screening reactions, press screenings and leaks I'm positive that it's gonna be a great film. So they learned from the mistakes of Prom and are going back to the drawing board? Well, if at first you don't succeed then try, try again! I think or hope that it's going to be what Prom. was supposed to be. Somehow they took a really big detour with that one. This is a really good look at explaining why Prom went wrong. www.cracked.com/article_20703_5-famously-terrible-movies-that-were-almost-great.html

My love for "Aliens" is only exceeded by my furious hatred for "Alien 3" and the faggots who heap praise on that turd. It's far from as bad as people say it is. Alien Resurrection is the turd. No amount of hatred is enough. The Alien saga was perfect UNTIL Alien 3 ruined everything.

I agree with everything about Prometheus but I disagree that Return of the Jedi was a terrible movie (number one spot). But yeah, looks like Ridley is learning form his mistakes. I guess we'll just have to see May19th. The embargo lifts May 6th so it'll be nice to have some critical response.

For starters, the entire premise is fatally flawed. We are supposed to believe an egg magically teleported aboard the Sulaco, hatched and killed Newt. Not only could the egg not have gotten there, killing off Newt and Hicks offscreen is a massive middle finger to the previous movie and it's fans. "B b b but dat was kewl and gutsy." Nope it was sloppy and reckless. Also, putting Ripley on a prison planet was boring as hell. Using a CGI xenomorph that looked like Playstation 1 graphics was the final nail in the coffin. The always wretched mangina Joss Whedon wrote this movie, too. I can't stand that bitch or his fans.

I don't think anyone agrees that it was a good idea to kill off Newt and Hicks. Although, Hicks is still alive (or would be) if Alien 5 gets made.

A lot of fruitcakes on IMDB used to tell me it was kewl and gutsy. Alien 5 had me excited, but Ridley's prequels have gotten in it's way.

Maybe they'll exceed your expectations and be good

I much prefer A L I E N.
Aliens is enjoyable enough though.

It's still one of the scariest movies of all time. Few movies can blend all the elements of Aliens and pull it off. It's as close to perfect as a movie can get.
