1. Size 4 body (felt fat, stupid idiotic me)
2. time - a few years ago I had such a great lifestyle where I dudnt have to work as much and was in charge of my days and how I chose to spend them. Sure I enjoyed it but didnt appreciate it as much as I should have. I should have thanked the lord (yeah the one I dont believe in) every day for such lucury...
How about you? Anything you used to have and now looking back you feel like u didnt appreciate it enough at that time?

Class of 1978, Cudahy (Wisconsin) High School, and though I LOVED every minute of it, now, looking back, I realize I didn't enjoy it enough.....or maybe I did. Either way, it blew by all too quickly........then came college (Marquette U.), which was NO fun at all, and soon after, real life, 24/7. If I could go back, even for just a day, there is no question I'd go back to high school....beachers, the annual talent show, dances, parties, the musicals, and Friday night football, or basketball games, where afterwards, everybody headed over to the local McD's, or to Pizza Hut......truly the last time in our lives we had no (real) responsibilities....when the worst thing most of us had to worry about was whether or not 'Susie' would agree to go to Prom come spring (and in my case, she did !!)! Just a wild, wacky, WONDERFUL time of life.....but one that's over MUCH too quickly..... SAVE FERRIS

Hmmm, if you find yourself wishing to go back in time to thank a lord you don't believe in, you may be looking down the barrel of a shotgun called "regret". (Does that last part sound down-home and folksy? I hope). "Regret is for suckers. Now pass me my next mistress." -the great FDR Meh. I'm sure he would have said it if asked. ;)

Walking around London. Although I have lived here since 1958 I never really explored the different areas until now. Mind you, having a 60+ travel card does help.

I'm sure he would have said it if asked. to me it’s more about humility and realizing how wonderful life is and being thankful for it. Like these days, I actually thank my body for being here for me and not hurting and being able, like I will stop during the day just to intentionally think of that, the miracle of not having any pain and having a body that works etc, a I realize it’s not a given thing for everybody and certainly will not last forever. Or the fact I grew up and still live in a war free time and place. Never thought much of it but boy is that a blessing. I guess I am just now more focused on appreciating things that I used to take for granted.

My high school was also a great time in my life and I think most people don’t realize how awesome it is when they are experiencing it maybe it’s just the normal thing for that age, not to realize it. I am thankful for having a good friend from there still in my life. Cool photos. Love the fashion choices.

Strolling down Canal Street in Amsterdam including the indoor malls in that wonderful city. Visiting the Paradiso club in the same city. Seeing up front, my first ever full sized "windmill" and the Dutch people are so very friendly! And sitting in a local tavern hoisting an Amstel on tap, the best beer I ever quaffed in my life!!!

I'm a person who always tries to appreciate everything and live in the moment.... It makes life a bit brighter at the time, but ultimately doesn't help with regret or longing for the past. I still have all of that. Also, size 4 is too thin. I bet you look hotter than ever.

I really don't appreciate where I live. The state sucks, mind you, because it's a festering shithole where our government is corrupt and we're overtaxed(and yet this past election all but 4 incumbents in the Assembly got re-elected). But you can't beat the location. I live in South Jersey and you're at maximum a few hours away from a lot of activity:
40 minutes or so from Philadelphia. About 30 minutes from the beach. 30 minutes from casino fun. An hour or so from Dover(if you're a NASCAR fan). 2 1/2 hours from NYC if you drive. Less if you take the train. 2 hours or so from Baltimore and the Inner Harbor. 3 hours or so from Washington, DC.
We benefit from all 4 seasons, have great regional food, and our produce is 2nd to none. Believe me, you haven't lived until you've eaten a Jersey tomato sandwich.

And joints that didn't hurt. Lovely kitties. Yes the not hurting joints is something I am trying to actively appreciate every day I hear that’s not going to last. Pain free life is such a gift and miracle and privilege. hope your pain is not too bad.

Sorry to hear that. That’s a tough lesson to learn. Hopefully someone out here will see your post and go and appreciate their family more. I got one will call my dad in the morning. Thanks for reminding me. I should count my blessings for still being able to talk to him.

Life is so worth celebrating every day just for existing.

Little things can make life enjoyable (or at least tolerable) when they aren't taken for granted.

Or the fact I grew up and still live in a war free time and place. Never thought much of it but boy is that a blessing. I guess I am just now more focused on appreciating things that I used to take for granted. FDR, of course, didn't say what I attributed to him as a quote; I was being silly in an attempt to make you smile. I thought it was pretty funny. Lol, someone even "liked" it and then "unliked" it after your reply to me here. It's not something I'm going to get into further than this, but not everyone's lives have unfolded in the order you describe. Some people have, in their past, from their earliest days, unimaginable pain with no answers and no freedom from it until later. Some people grew up in that war zone. Some people white knuckled it for decades, exaggerating to themselves what very little was good, and getting by on their ability to grin and bear it. So for them, the luxury of looking back and seeing good things missed and taken for granted, does not apply. They do not need to be taught humility as adults because they learned it long ago. I was concerned that your original post smacked of depression, so I wanted to cheer you up. I was wrong. I apologize.
