Probably most of them.
A friend was on a ski lift with Jack Nicholson.
"Are you Jack Ni –"
(Tersely) "Yes, I am."
End of conversation.

While admittedly not a heart-warming moment, I would MUCH rather be on the end of a "conversation" like this one, than any one of hundreds of soul-crushingly bad tirades some celebrities have gifted their fans with over the years, for nothing more than the "crime" of uttering the words, "Hey, aren't you <Insert Celebrity Name Here> ??)." SAVE FERRIS

Most of them. I don't think making it to the top in Hollywood tends to leave you the nicest person in the world. I'm just as happy to admire their work from a distance and not meet them in person.

Thirty years ago I was in a restaurant with Robert Plant. A few people asked for autographs and he obliged. We left him alone.

msdemosAgreed. because while I can understand things from the celebrity standpoint in the sense it would get old if people are constantly rushing up to you flipping out etc etc, it does seem like they should at least try to be half way decent with people without going off as I can see them getting a little snippy, because we are all human, but they should try to keep it within reason. I think the thing that would most suck about being a fairly big name celebrity is you can't go no where without people rushing you. like just going to the grocery store, or pumping gas, would be a event and in that regard it's sort of like they are in jail and that kind of pressure has to suck after a while.

My favourite TV show as a teen was Hercules: the Legendary Journeys (actually it's probably still my favourite - sticking it on always puts me in a good mood). Sadly as much as I love Kevin Sorbo's Hercules, I'm not sure I like much about what I know of the real Sorbo. One hero I think I'm better never meeting.

I just remembered seeing Dennis Hopper at the Albuquerque airport back in '74 or so. I was going up an escalator and he was coming down. When he saw I recognized him, his face became stricken with anxiety if not paranoia. We passed without changing a word.
