Or is suffering just unavoidable regardless? I think it depends on the animal and its location. I also doubt it is as much as it used to be with humans and their invading with overdeveloped. So something that lives in the desert and is not hunted with no risk of getting hit by cars aka death monsters has a better chance at living longer than those that live in a city or nearby woods where it might get murdered by animal killers.

Not much can kill a Blue Whale, I think most of them live between 80 to 90 years old.
