I wasn't a huge fan of Get Out. I didn't think it was as original as critics claimed it to be and it was very heavy handed in it's themes. So I was hopeful but hesitant coming into Peeles second film, Us. But i was pleasantly surprised almost immediately. I really liked so much about this. The use of music was brilliant, particularly in the final fight sequence. It came across as graceful and brutal at the same time. Looking forward to a rewatch.

Whether Get Out is heavy handed or not, I very seldom come across anyone who actually understands what the movie was saying beyond "racism is bad".
I was kind of disappointed by Us. Whatever this one was trying to say overshadowed any logic in the actual narrative. I did love the music, though.

It's good until the ending. This movie would have been better off with ambiguity in regards to where all the doppelgangers come from. Once it explains everything the whole movie falls apart.

Something about it just didn’t grasp me. It’s a decent movie but not even on the top 5 horror movies of this year.

Get Out was average/good. Us was far better. It's a hugely layered film all about Trump's America. Peele knows how to intertwine a bunch of narrative's really well. Solid Director so far.

I didn't care for it. I didn't like Get Out either.

I enjoyed both of them tremendously. I do want to view a rewatch of Us. I've seen Get Out several times. Very subtle films.

I preferred this to Get Out as well. Naturally, it's bigger in scope and scale, and I think the performances are certainly more impressive.
But mostly for me, I agree that the messaging is more interesting here. It's more of just part of this strange story. I felt like it was more seamlessly woven into things while Get Out felt a lot like a lecture. I liked both but found this more engaging.

i hated it, made no sense, how could people with scissors take over a world filled with guns Spot on. It went from creepy to goofy to full on embarrassingly stupid. Am I the only one who saw the "twist" coming about 20 minutes into the movie? It started out with promise but turned to shit. The government created clones to help control people and forgot about them and the clones then...... what the actual fuck is this nonsense suppossed to be about?!!! Then we get the topper of low IQ clones using scissors to take over the world from people with guns and something about hands across America tossed in because it wasn't stupid enough yet. Maybe they just took over California but even with all those pacifist wimps it's a huge stretch. What a huge misstep of a second movie.

I was kind of the opposite. I liked Get Out more then US. It's not a bad movie by any means but I didn't really find it scary. Lupita Nyong'o was very very good though and I really liked the reveal at the end that her character was actually the doppleganger that usurped the real Lupita's place as a child. That saved the movie from becoming another Hereditary for me.

I liked it though was slightly disappointed based on hype. I saw the twist early on and think you really have to suspend disbelief GREATLY in order to make the movite make sense as far as clones living a shadow life undetected by most for years.

Didn’t really warm to Get Out. I liked Catherine Keener’s presence in it the best. Didn’t bother with Us due to how I felt about GO. For a second there I thought you were talking about the 90s intertwining dramatic crime comedy written John August known as Go, and I didn't see the connection. I guess my mind doesn't go to abbreviations right away.

Get Out was okay, but I think all the praise came from people who (almost) never watch horror movies. I really don't understand all the raving reviews it got.
